Reston hockey clinic (Virginia)

I signed up for a hockey clinic in the Reston ice rink (Skatequest):

ADULT POWERSKATING & HOCKEY SKILLS

They claim its "by far the best adult clinic in the area, guaranteed!".

Anyway, I've seen a lot of guys here in hfboards live in NoVA and play in Fairfax, so maybe someone has taken it before and can give me some feedback.

I'm new to hockey and only started playing a few months ago, I took the hockey clinic in the Fairfax Ice Arena, and it was fun but I thought a little lacking.

I've participated in the clinic at Herbert Wells Ice Rink in College Park, Md. the last two years, and it's been great for me. My game has come a long way thanks in part to some very good coaching at that clinic.

The best part is that it's only $15/session, or $90 for 6 weeks, and there are three 6 week sessions each winter. Classes are long, from 7:45p to 9:45p, so it's a very good deal. First session is skating, second is passing and shooting, and third is team play.

I don't know anything about the Reston clinic.

I have not taken the Reston clinic, but know some of the guys at that rink and they cannot say enough good things about the guy that runs those clinics. They've said it just in discussion, knowing I'm not going to take it so they arent trying to talk it up, but just a true respect for the instructors there.

I hope it works out to be true for you. Please report back after you've taken it.

$15/session is really good for a two hour class!

The clinic in Fairfax was $140 for 7 sessions, so that is $20 / session, but each session was only 40 minutes long. So after warming up, you really only had about a half hour left, that's why I felt it was a bit lacking. It was very fun though and I met great people.

I'll let you know my opinion on the Reston hockey clinic once its starts in May.

I'm taking this clinic as well, see you in a few weeks!

I've heard good things about it.
