I am not a long time follower though. I have just been trying to catch their games when I can for the past 18 months or so.

part of me is rooting for the Kings out west especially since I have seen many of their players in Manchester.

I've never understood it myself.

You root for one team, the only exception is rooting for national teams or teams in a different league, but I've never understood the "rooting for multiple teams in the same league" thing.

I started buying everything in half dollars. It's pretty cool to watch the cashiers faces.

My "second team" is whomever the Penguins are playing.

Well...I got some upsetting news this morning.

A few weeks ago, the father of some kids I taught to skate and coached passed away due to leukemia. I just heard today that their mother has an inoperable brain tumor and has been given 3-5 months.

I've known this family for about 10 years now...the kids are 18, 16 and 14.

Just throwing it out there cause it's on my mind and the rest of my day will be a write off anyways.

Everyone with a Kings avy who calls themselves a Flyers fan should get aids and dye.

So, ya know, they dye their fabrics correctly...

That seriously sucks.

Reminds me of a family I went to school with, though. First son is badly autistic. Second son died 4 years ago driving back to college in Kutztown. Mom died 2 years ago from cancer. Then, on top of all that, their house burned down about 3 weeks ago. On the bright side, the community is really rallying around them, and there's all kinds of fundraisers and **** going on to help them out.

Oh my gosh. How awful for that family. I hope they have a very supportive extended family and friends - the kids are going to need all they can get. I can't imagine how much Mom must be worrying about what's going to happen to the kids, while she can.

It's hard enough for adults to cope with the death of one or both parents - kids shouldn't have to.

Hold good thoughts, and be there for the kids as much as you can, if you're still in contact with the family.

There are some pretty good porns that illustrate that fact.

I think one of the toughest things for me is seeing the mother now. She was previously a Criminal prosecutor for the Crown. She was one of the brighest and well spoken people I knew. With the tumor and the treatments, she can't even talk anymore.

I see the kids around town...it's kind of a small place. I'll try and do what I can...which is all anyone can do I suppose.

I'm not stupid. I've plucked out 2 '64's already. Fun new hobby.

I should clarify. As a silver hoarder (I've got about 100 oz. in 10oz bars) I am going through my recently deceased great-uncles stash of half dollars (hoarded them for some reason?) and spending whatever isn't silver. The rest will be melted into bars.

I inherited around $3k in half dollars.

I'm watching Action News, which I don't do too often, and Dan Cuellar does not look good at all. Anybody know what's wrong with him?

The line '**** this ****, I'm getting the bazooka' alone qualifies Kick Ass to be the best movie of 2010.

Ran sound for "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Live!" at the theater tonight. ****ing hilarious!! I smoked cigarettes with Master Shake (Dana Snyder - he smokes Marlboro Lights), and ate one of Carl's wings.

And I got to run sound for Gil Scott-Heron last week. I've had a good couple shows recently.

Yeah and I almost died laughing, when he came back into the room, stated that everything is under control and then slowly approached the bazooka like nobody saw that he was getting it.

The best parts of that movie are all the little things.
