Sam Rosen is a class act who has spoiled me when it comes to listening to other broadcasts. There are other good ones in the league and Doc is right up there for me but for me It's Sam on top.

I met Sam and Joe as when they came to Calgary and they were awesome, I do miss the Rosen and JD tandem however.

Sam's call on the closing minute of the Rangers Philly game at MSG gave me goosebumps, and the same for the wife.

One thing that Rosen and Emrick have in common..........they are gracious and friendly. Having met both of them, I was impressed with their outgoing nature and patience with fans who had questions. The local teams could do a lot worse than those two. Howie Rose, turncoat that he is, is not bad either.

A true Rangers fan would NEVER, EVER, make this statement. Shame on you.

I rue the day Sam retires. There's no play by play guy working at MSG studios worthy of the role right now. Mike Crispino and John Giannone are terrible. I would not mind Kenny Albert. In fact I wouldn't mind bringing the whole radio team over. Dave is a good color guy. They are great to listen to together.
I agree wholeheartedly. Maloney is great.

Not just a different opinion, a different opinion in favor of the Devils.

lol the best is when he says stuff like "Its not in my contract to work a day game after a night game." followed by "I'd like to personally thank Dunkin Donuts for the seasons coffee.." (which we all know isnt coffee) or when he starts to slur his words around the 7th inning. <3 Mets announcing.

Having met Sam a few times, I found him to be a very gracious man. That's such an important impression, I can overlook the misidentified player here and there. As you get older you realize those things do start to happen. He's a wonderful part of the Rangers family and I hope he stays with it for many more years. (and I sure wouldn't mind if Dave Maloney slid in as his color man next year)

Sam is the greatest.

When he leaves though, I hope Howie Rose comes back to the Rangers.
My favorite all time line from Sam: "Did Redden fall or did the blue line monster grab him?" HAHAHA only sammy

I love how Sam and Joe are doing the VS game tonight (MTL vs. WSH)

Helps with the withdrawal of no Rangers PO hockey to hear those two

Makes the game more enjoyable too.

I really can't see him being any other way. So many hockey announcers today are just shills that like to hear themselves talk. Rosen is pretty much the opposite of that

I'm not saying he's the best.I just think that he has this genuine quality about him that makes him very likable. I don't care how many names he continues to mispronounce, I'll never get tired of him

Well said, I agree.

I remember seeing a segment on MSG last season showing what he does to prepare for a game starting from the car ride to the Garden and then he was talking about when he announced the Rangers winning the cup. Something like "You can't rehearse something like this, you just speak from the heart" in reference to his line "The Rangers are the Stanley Cup Champions!! And this one will last a lifetime!"

I'm sure he's a great guy to meet in person.

Rosen is great, and also a great person. He's from my town, and came my old high school to cast his votes for a local election. My team was waiting for the bus to take us to practice, and he struck up a conversation with us, and even gave us a shout-out during the broadcast that night for being ranked top 10 in the state at that point in the season.

Awesome.

But as far as my favorite broadcasting crew in all of sports goes, I gotta go with Gary, Keith and Ron for Mets games.

Kenny Albert does the NFL on TV, I'm sure he can do hockey on TV.
