Someone hasn't watched a whole lot of Senators playoff games.

I personally think this is a disasterous decision. I like Pascal and hope he bounces back into the form he showed two years ago and really comes into camp ready to win the starters job. I just don't think he has the confidence in himself to get the job done...I doubt very much that his teammates do. UGH.

I'm still hoping for the best...Go Sens Go. One win at a time.

This is HF if you don't dominate as a rookie you're a bust.

Those throwing Elliott in the trash right now are just off the deep end. Everyone develops different, how other rookie goalies are performing this year has no impact on how Elliott will do going forward. It helps that their teams are playing well in front of them.

Elliott basically won the starting job here by default, our goaltending depth is so weak that it doesn't take much to win the starting job.

Elliott is not a goalie that steals games and imo that is what separates a #1 goalie from a backup. Starting goaltenders steal games, backup goaltenders just need to play well enough to not lose you the game.

There's nothing inherently wrong with being a backup, I'm sure Elliott will have a great career, probably not unlike Alex Auld's career trajectory.

How dare you trash HF like that, HF knows who is a bust and who isn't, you should be ashamed of yourself.

LOL

It's funny when they're simply a draft position they're considered golden...they get picked and they're future stars...they play a year and don't produce or perform like Tyler Myers or Matt Duchesne and they're busts.

That's what makes this place so much fun.

"We feel Brian has struggled" - Cory Clouston

Yeah, we all feel it.

We also feel that Leclaire has struggled. So, I guess we can simply just hope for a sudden turn around in goaltending? It pretty much doesn't matter who they put in at this point. Actually, it may be smart to put Leclaire in because at least then the media will have 2 goalies to blame for the 1st round exit and not just pile on Elliot. Let's face it. Elliot is basically a rookie goaltender. This has been a huge learning experience for him and he's been under a lot of pressure. He'll be fine next year and this sets up a real battle between him and Leclaire for the starter's job next season.

Also, Cheechoo could not skate with the other NHLers last game. It was obvious. At one point, I noticed a Sens player nearly fall down just trying to turn around. When the player did get around, I saw that it was Cheechoo. He just cannot skate at this level anymore. It was glaring.

I don't necessarily like the decision of having Leclaire in net, but I think it's a move that they needed to make. You could tell a change in the Senators game once Leclaire came into the game the other night, so I think this is more of a confidence move.

The negativity in here is kinda funny. Why can't we just sit back and try to enjoy the game? Pittsburgh is a top2 team in the East, so there's really no shame in losing.

We deserved an easier first round opponent (like the Devils... to all those people who thought they would be a tougher opponent ), but this is what we got. Now let's see how the team performs.

Elliott started 4 games. He's had his chance to shine, and he didn't.

So, Leclaire gets the nod. He probably won't fare any better than Elliott, but Leclaire deserves the same shot ( to replace a struggling goalie ) that Elliott benefited from earlier this season.

Maybe this is what the team needed. Obviously they weren't playing well in front of Elliott, so we have to go to the backup. It worked out well for the Wings two years ago when they went to Osgood when Hasek struggled.

Elliott replaced a hot brodeur.

The logic behind Leclaire starting:

Win: great, start the next game and build off your success.

Loss: well, it doesn't matter anyway. Next season the controversy will start from scratch and both guys will get a chance. If we lose, Elliott's confidence doesn't matter.

So in a game against Washington this year, Clouston assembled a shutdown line, to shutdown the Ovie line.

He had Kelly-Fisher-Alfredsson put together, and they were an awesome shut down line.

How come CC hasn't used this line against the Crosby line.

Makes no sense and now hes going to start Leclaire, come on CC.

Oh, my mistake. I thought Leclaire was the guy who played 34 games for the Sens this season and was signed to an expensive contract to be the number 1.

I'm fine with this. Any of the 3 goalies would've had the same chance to win a game.

On the upside, if the team really stinks out the joint, I still have two more episodes of The Pacific to watch....

Sens, do not make me turn the channel.....

Call me crazy, but I think this will be a great game. Elimination on the line and the team hasn't played well since the Sutton hit. I expect a big win and Leclaire to dominate.

Too bad I wont be able to watch... I still believe!
