Doesn't surprise me. A team without two of their Top 4 forwards and a 3rd string goalie? I'd want to play Philly too.
But we all know that at this point there are no easy opponents.
Yea don't take it as "Bruins suck, the Flyers will rail them", it would just be in the interest of the Flyers to avoid playing the Capitals and of the interest of the Bruins to avoid the Penguins. Not that I do not think we can give the Capitals a good series, it would just make me really really really happy to see that team knocked out in the First Round. Go Montreal.
It really is too bad both teams are not 100%, would have made for an intense series. Bruins and Flyers are pretty similar teams and would be an interesting match-up. Personally, IF Montreal can beat Washington, I like the Flyers chances to beat the Bruins in 6.
Lots of Bruins fans with their jeans in the dryer right now imagining the Habs win Wednesday and they're somehow on their way to the Conference Finals. I don't quite know the elevation of Boston, but I assume it must be pretty high if they can see right over Chris Pronger.
Anyway, I'd like the Broons but I still fully anticipate the Caps. Game 7 at their house, they're the better team, I'm realistic.

Yeah, Philly-Boston would be an interesting series. The games would be close at least.

Yup he would have more than likely played a game 7 if necessary. Our blueline is still banged up though. Mark stuart is a very good possibility to making a return in the series. Seidenberg is still a couple weeks a way. I in no way think philly would be a pushover. i think it would be a great exciting series actually. both teams have some rough guys who play alot in Lucic, chara, carcillo, pronger etc.... i can see a 70's feel to the series. I was just saying i hope to play philly because the choice is Pitts or philly, and its a no brainer. i dont wanna be faced up against crosby, malkin in the next round.

I think all of us can agree with what you said. =)
I think the season series is a good indication of how the playoff series would play out. All of them would be close games, usually one goal games, and a few of them probably going to OT. Both teams play extremely well defensively and both teams are pretty banged up.
I dont care who we play in the next round. I dont fear the Caps. They are a shaken team right now even if they find a way a way to win in game 7.
Boston could give us some problems as well.
Anyone wishing for Boston just remember. Be carefull what you wish for.
I'm kind of hoping for Philly-Washington and Pittsburgh-Boston, so Philly and Boston can meet in the conference finals. It would be so awesome.
I'm hoping for the same thing, but because I want a Philly/Pittsburgh conference final. Because I want the last game ever played at Mellon Arena to be a Flyers win.
