You really think you could get that much from Boston?? Yeah, that isn't going to happen.

But it is very creative. So the title wasn't misleading.

Hey we are assuming that BOS's 1st is the 30th overall here

i think there is a deal to be made with Boston. They strength of their organization is young centres. Bergeron, Savard, and Krejci are all natural centres. The last thing they need is another one if there is a franchise winger available. 3 of their top 5 prospects are also centres.

If they draft Hall(3.75), they will have Savard (5.0) Bergeron (4.75) rhyder (4.0) krejci (3.75)sturm (3.5) Lucic (4.0) signed for next year. They have to find cap room and playing time for Wheeler who will be looking for 3.5 on a long term deal.

Hall for Wheeler and Seguin makes Boston a better team. Hall for Coburne and Seguin also works for them.

I'd do Hall for Wheeler and Seguin I think.

I'm really high on Smid and Fistric, but they'd never be a good pairing together.

Man. There sure is a hell of a lot of toughness in that top 6, though.

Both those trades are worse than the OP.

If you seriously think the difference between Hall and Seguin is Wheeler or Colborne, you are mistaken. First, none of us know if Chiarelli even wants Hall. He has gone on record many times stressing how Seguin is versitile and can play all 3 positions. Second, he may want to move up but he certainly isn't going to trade a roster player to do that. Third, Colborne is far and away our best prospect at the moment, and he was a project when the B's picked him and he has developed even better than we assumed he would.

If that's the case, and the assumption is that Edmonton selects Seguin at #1, then the Bruins can simply look to trade down from #2. What would teams give up to select Taylor Hall at #2?

Why is everyone on here so eager to help Boston out. Tuff $hit for them they have too many centers. If they don't want another one, draft a D and let someone else take Seguin. Better yet trade us there pic and let us get both.

so its been said that seguin would possibly need more time before actually playing full time in the nhl

considering savard is 33 years old, i dont see how seguin couldnt fit into bostons future plans

Apparently Johnny Boychuk is suddenly "flavour of the day" around town.

No, the only way we make a trade to boston to downgrade is if we get rid of Souray. That's the only way.

1st and Souray

for

2nd and Boychuck

That's the only reason we should downgrade.

No way on earth could Boston possibly take on Souray's contract. I think it would be much more likely that we could see Hemsky + 31st for Ryder + 2nd than 1st + Souray for 2nd + Boychuck.

Not saying Hemsky + 31st for Ryder + 2nd is likely. Just more likely.

If Boston wanted the #1 pick that badly I'd do...

1st + Nashville's 2nd for 2nd + Wheeler.

Souray + 1st for Ryder/Sturm + 2nd + (Boston's first + Toronto's 2nd)/Joe Colborne

Of course if I had my choice I'd like to see us dump Hemsky so that we could pick up #1 and #2.

RFA. Made half a million this year. Would be really cheap to resign.

Then no dice on the downgrade. You need to realize a lot of Edmonton is relying on this first overall. It's the first ever for the organization, and couldn't have come at a better time. Unless we're bringing in more than we dish out and add our first overall along with it, it'll be a complete **** show in Edmonton. Whyte ave won't be very happy.

Wow. Now that's creative. I don't think we could turn that down. Can't imagine that not being another top 10 pick next year...

I'm sure Oilers would have to add still..... but if they want Hall that should be the basis of the trade.

You guys really are incredible. You will get NOTHING of value from Boston to move up one spot. Certainly not a Wheeler or Colborne.
