With Miller getting involved there I think Chara's attempt to get his boys fired up backfired and gave Buffalo a bit more of a boost. Seeing your emotional leader jump in for the cause has got to sit well with his teammates.

They're Bruins fans... they'll find a way to whine if penalties are 100:1 in their favor.

So, Chara with an instigator in the final 5 minutes.

Possible suspension? Not likely, IMO.

Those HSBC stat keepers are known for inflating the stats.

The Sabres have dominated play in the past two games now. Just keep it going.

**** no. Jesus, when did this game get so *********.

Though an instigator in under 5 minutes usually does get a look because it's supposed to be a one-game suspension for the player and coach, IIRC. It rarely happens, don't think it will here either.

It's the HIT stats LDS. Their pens dive down onto the scoresheet to mark them.

Not saying it should, but I think the rule is an automatic 1 game, and then they all get reviewed.

I'd be shocked if they sat a guy like Chara for something that minor. A Kaleta or McCormick, maybe. But not a star.

All the nine percenters, put your hands up.
How many times have teams scored first every game of the series and lost?

I only caught the last 9 minutes, so nothing to add. I'll catch the rewind tonight at midnight.

I dont think its such a slam dunk Boston beats us in game 6. They havent exactly out-played the Sabres in the last 2 games, in fact I think Buffalo has played very well, they just let up too much in game 5. They can do it, the Garden will be rockin', but a couple early scores can fix that.

Vanek gets the extra day, yeah. But Savard's chances for game 6?

Two extra. Game 6 is on Monday.

I highly doubt Savard plays in the series.

As do I. Getting in game shape after not even skating as long as he did doesn't happen that quickly. If he does, it might be advantage Buffalo because he probably wouldn't be very effective.

I think he was cleared for contact yesterday or maybe Wednesday, so I think Game 7 would be the earliest. He's had a concussion, so he hasn't been conditioning or anything, so not sure where that leaves his game.

I saw something today that Savard has one last medical hurdle to clear to be 100% cleared to play - and that's Monday morning meeting with the doctors. That's just to clear him to play though. I highly doubt he's ready.

Game 7 though may be a different story if the Sabres come out and whoop on the Bruins like they did tonight.

After Vanek's injury on such a dirty play with a stick straight to the knee, if Savard does play I'd love Kaleta out their each shift with Lindy saving if Savard touches the puck make sure he pays for it. Everything legal, just make him know what coming into a series after 5 games is going to mean.
