Wouldn't it be awesome if he could play like he was in the playoffs all the time?

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but don't everyone get too excited. On all those lists perhaps the only guys he has played better than are Nabokov. It's been the defense.

Just sayin'

Team has been playing great, but a .940SA% is owned by the goalie while the GAA can be attributed to the defense as well as the goalie.

Just sayin'.

Come on.... you have to admit, he's come up huge for us. Those numbers are an accurate representation of how he's been playing. And he's been better than any other goalie in the playoffs IMO.

Boucher has been great. If you are saving 94% of the shots that are fired on you in the playoffs (many of which coming from two of the best offensive players in the NHL), you are playing great. Plus many of the goals that were scored Boosh was 100% screened and had no chance. You can't harsh on the guy in the last series. He stole the first game in Jersey and played very convincing the rest of the series. The only question is if he can keep it up...

That picture would have been laughed at if it were shopped' before the series.

This is why I love the playoffs.

I believe after his first two starts, Emery was at the top of every goalie stat at the start of the regular season. Hopefully Bouch can keep it up for the Caps.

Haha, Debbies. Fleury has been pretty inconsistent, but you're right that Boucher isn't the best goalie in the playoffs. Still, if the defense can keep it up and give him minimal high percentage offensive chances to deal with, all the better.

Though slightly less dependent on the team, save percentage is still very much a product of what kind of shots the team allows. If the defense forces the majority of shots to the perimeter and allows the goalie time, clears the rebounds, etc., it has a big effect on all goaltending stats.

Boosh has been a nice bright spot. No doubt he outplayed Brodeur overall that series. No small feat.

Understood but this isn't a what if SA% discussion we're having. We all watched these games and I think we can all agree that he had to make some pretty good saves from in close throughout the series. They may not have all looked that amazing but that's because of his positioning through all the games.

Umm, this isnt to take anything away from Boosh, but its not like he has seen a TON of shots...

This goes to show how our defense and defensive forwards are playing. You downgrade our d-men, I can assure you Boosh's stats wouldnt be the same.

Im gonna wait till we play the Caps till I call him the Flyer's savior

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

Did you guess which thing was not like the others?
Did you guess which thing just doesn't belong?
If you guessed this one is not like the others,
Then you're absolutely...right!

Why can't you guys just enjoy it? Between this, the fire Holmgren and the recent Hartnell thread, some of ya are just not enjoying the ride like you should be. Finally Boosh is on a hot streak and is the feel good story of the playoffs, the team won in 5 without 2 of its top players so stop and smell the roses! It's a great time of year to be a Flyers fan!

How bout this? Everyone refrain from posting new topics in case of a jinx.

Or just posting anything that can be a jinx if taken out of contacts.

Keep the injury reports up, but STOP posting about how good a player/the team is doing. I am very superstitious when it comes to that stuff as are many of you.

Just sayin....

Brian Boucher is one of the streakiest goalies in NHL history. He can be fantastic at one time and then down right awful at another and for what it's worth Boosh is my favorite NHL player probably ever. But his performance against the Devils was not just a project of his goaltending. The defense was phenomenal throughout the whole series and it will have to be next round again if they want to have a hope in hell or Boosh will be hung out to dry and most likely people will be calling for Leighton to start if it happens. Our fans have very short memories and I can see some people turning on him if he has one bad game which will happen if we play the Caps.

I wasn't trying to say Boucher is a savior to us by posting the image. I just thought it was something nice to see...as well as surprising. I don't expect either his GAA or SA% to stay that good, but at the same time I don't expect some of the other goalies numbers to either.
