Give Legwand the C

For tomorrow night atleast. And take Arnott off the powerplay, he's not getting it done, and give him 4th line minutes, that's all he deserves, Boyd is a better player right now.

Legwand never struck me as captain material.

After Arnott and Sullivan's contracts are up, I'd give it to Suter (assuming he re-signs)

I don't see Leggy being a good captain. He doesn't strike me as a leader. He's more of a player who plays to the abilities of his linemates.

Arnott has to keep the C until the season is over at least. If you strip him now you send a horrible message to the team at an incredibly vital moment. If you take it you wait until this summer. Give it to Weber, Suter, or Sullivan. Give Horny an A.

If you guys ever attended a practice, or even training camp...no one talks more on the ice than Legwand. He's always telling people where to be, what to do, calling them out when they screw up, patting them on the back when they do well. Legwand will always be everyone's favorite whipping boy, but he's got more captain in him than Dina's husband, that's for sure.

It's either Legwand or Sullivan. Either one. We do not need Jason Arnott.

Legwand has surprised me in the playoffs (minus game 2). He's playing like it's his contract year again. Where has this passion been the last 2 years?

But, no. Captains aren't made on 3 game sample sizes. And he doesn't have the personality for it either.

Arnott has failed these playoffs. But, we knew when signed him to a 5 year deal, we were paying a guy with an inconsistent history who was entering the downside of his career. Concussions have probably made it worse. I agree Trotz should cut his ice-time. Legwand on the PP usually makes me puke, but it can't get worse, and he's got the hot hand.

Sullivan may have been a better choice for captain. But honestly, leaders aren't made by sewing a letter on your chest. These guys are men and high paid professionals. "Self-motivated" should be part of job description.

Oh, and can we create a sub forum "David Legwand #1 fan club."? These boards needs it.

While I agree with taking the C from Arnott.

... I'll just stop there.

Arnott can be the Captain for the next 5 years for all I care, just be the Captain on another team. I want him gone, I think he has a NM clause, but I can dream. Buy him out, do whatever. He is just taking up too a spot and too much salary....I am done with him.

I have not checked the stats, but, has the top line center on any of the other playoff teams failed to score during these playoffs? How about points....or does Jason have these honors all to himself?

Arnott's gone after next year, as is Sullivan.

Weber will be the focus UFA (and probably highest ever paid Predator)

Crazy talk. After 3 good games by one guy you want to disrupt and entire team fighting for it's life? Make that change today and make tee times Tuesday.

Arnott didn't lead the team to the comeback, he hasn't done squat, Legwand is proving it on the ice...

Legwand's been here since the beginning, through all the good and bad, leads the franchise in most statistics. I say give him the C once Arnott leaves.

I think Leggy deserves the C after what I heard about what he's like during practices. But what about Francis Bouillon? He may not be vocal (I don't really know) but he's my height and yet he never shies away from physical contact- he actually goes after it. Great "lead-by-example" guy and, IMO, our most underrated player.

One would think, if he was going to be a Captain for this franchise he would at least be an assistant by now. Since he's decided to show up now.... I can't see that really being enough reason to give him the Captaincy.

And I would agree with that. I'm not as much wanting Legwand the captain as I am wanting arnott to be a 4th liner, like he's playing...
