They have the NHL marketing figurehead... It's their building... It's an emerging franchise...
Like boxing, if it goes to Round 12, they win.
It has to be a KO or the Habs lose.
The Habs need to come out huge.
I expect the Caps to be desperate. They'll throw it al they've got, every dirty trick. From crashing our goalie to moving their net (we've already seen a bit of these). Their top scorers will be starving.
I also expect our Habs to be this way. After all, its do or die for both teams. Habs only need play like tonight, but in addition, they have to limit the shots on net and take less penalties. Caps are trying bombard the net in order to feed off rebounds. Taking penalties against the team with the best PP in the regular season isn't great either, even though our PK has been stellar. WE come out strong, apply more pressure. Give it al we got. But don't leave openings for Caps to take advantage of. We've seen how terrible it can lead.
We start of strong, get the first goal. Play with their minds. Try to get a second before they can score (at least). Don't take dumb penalties. Hustle like they never have. Stop them from getting comfy in our zone and bombarding Halak. Its going to be essential to have all players show up prepared for a blood bath.
Reading the Caps media, Boudreau will consider the possibility of going with Theo.
Oh man I pray they go to Theo. Varlamov might have let in some questionable goals tonight but he also robbed the habs of some sure goals. Theo was downright average in game 1 and 2. We have had his number ever since he left.
