I think I'd be down for rolling 7 dmen.

There really is no need. Our top 4 play huge minutes. Adding another D man isn't going to accomplish much, the third pairing barely gets enough ice time now.

We need four full lines, and they'll have to see which of the callups earns a second audition.

Jared Ross will join Andreas Nodl in the lineup for the Flyers in Game 1. Ross will center JVR and Asham. Nodl to play w/ Betts and Powe.

So shocked no Maroon.

Hmmm, well that's interesting, that's the first I've heard of any talk of Ross being used right now. I like Ross ok, but I don't think inserting him and using those combos for the 3rd and 4th lines is our best option. I guess you have to figure it's what's looking best at practice, though.

And there's Laliberte and Kalinski... oh wait

Guess their going with:

Giroux-Richards-Carcillo
Leino-Briere-Hartnell
JVR-Ross-Asham
Powe-Betts-Nodl

Ross joined Andreas Nodl and defenseman Danny Syvret as the Flyers' extra skaters at practice yesterday. There is room for both Ross and Nodl, along with Ville Leino, in the Flyers lineup.

Stefan Legein, Jon Kalinski, Pat Maroon, Kevin Marshall, Erik Gustafsson and Joonas Lehtivuori skated as the "Black Aces" on the adjacent rink. Curiously, David Laliberte, who replaced Carter on the Flyers' top line in the Game 5 clincher, did not skate with the Flyers and remained with the others on the taxi squad.

Peter Laviolette has rotated players through practice this week in an attempt to "get to know them."

So do you guys know if Legein's been there the whole time, or did they just call him up after all the injuries? The Phantoms reporter never mentioned him being one of the call-ups at the end of their season.

Thanks.

I think the lineup versus Boston needs to be tweaked from what I thought we needed versus Washington. I'm afraid of the defensive side of a Leino Briere Hartnell combo though. Ross is a versatile enough guy but I don't like Nodl in there.

I have some huge faith in Lavvy though and I bet he'll get the best out of his fill-ins. I like that he is cycling guys in in out to see who fits his style best. Of course the obvious statement to make here is that he could have made those observations preseason has Stevens been fired off season like he should have, but I digress.

I think to the Carter, Gagne Lappy injury list we really need to add Pyro since I'm sure he would be a virtual lock to be in the lineup now. Boy we could use his 2 way play in this series. I know he wasn't loved on these boards but I was a big fan.

Im actually liking Ross jvr and asham. holy defensive liability in line 2 tho. probably would rather see giroux and leino switch.

Legein must have been a late recall. Neither he, Maroon or Ross were on the original group, and neither was Gustafsson.

There is no debate. You were clearly wrong and i was correct. You insisted Maroon will play. I never ever said Laliberte would play either. Again i said he would play over Maroon. Are we clear yet or do you need me to explain it again.

Yea did also. Oh well. Giroux with Richards-Carcillo worked last game so it was a good decision. I'd prob throw JVR up there instead of Carcillo but a 3rd line of JVR-Ross-Asham is fine. I think this shows that Matsumoto is on his way out

So if Maroon plays and Laliberte doesnt then you would have been correct.

Is Gagne getting looked at tomorrow to see if he can begin skating. I think that's what Holmgren said.

I actually think line two will be a good one against Boston. Briere's quickness, Leino's board work, and Hartnell not taking dumb penalties. They will be fine.

Round 1: No dumb penalties - check
Round 2: Staying up on skates - ? (babysteps)

next will be the slap passes...

By the cup finals he may be scoring goals too.
