Gabriel Bourque is a machine.. I had the luck to play with him in Baie-Comeau ( Bantam BB ) and the guy is such a great performer, he will give everything he can to help his team win.

I would love to see him play on a third line with Gaby Dumont in the Habs jersey in a couple of years.

Lache pas el gros!!!

I have tickets for game 6. In the upper bowl. I'm gonna try to wear my Kabanov shirt since my Gormley one is signed. As a Rocket fan I must ask. What's the finals like?

Are you sure there'll be a game 6?
Cats fell into bad habits in game 2 that they didn't shake untill the 3rd period of game 4. Or maybe the Dogs fell into bad habits in the 3rd period?
Game 4 Friday will be the series statement by either team.

Saint John evens up the series with a 3-2 overtime win on the road tonight. This is the series we were all hoping for at the start. Saint John originally had a two goal lead before letting Moncton earn their way back into the game. Petersen scored the overtime winner for his team. The series heads back to Saint John for a game five and could be the turning point for either team.

Cousineau was outstanding for the Sea Dogs in this one- he flat out robbed Moncton on numerous opportunities.

If I were Danny Flynn I'd be more than slightly concerned about the momentum shift in this series.

If i'd be Danny flynn, i would put Shane owen in the net, riopel is trash, he battles the puck every shot, he can't control his rebound, he makes his defence scraqmble for the puck, like last night, instead of just freezing the puck twice, savard had to bail him out!, i just don't think he's up for the task, he played 1 good game in the playoffs, against drummondville, in drummondville, game 4 i think!, anyways Shane owen has proved that he can stop the puck and control his rebounds, play him before rio ****s up our chance at a memorial cup!!!!!

You're out of your mind. I'm not even going to bother counter-arguing your post.

Flynn has nobody else but himself to blame for the momentum shift in this seried. His move to pull Riopel with less than a minute to play in Game 2 ignited Gallant which in turn rubbed off on his players!!! Never in my life have I seen an NHL coach pull his goalie as Flynn did. Prpbably why he will never make it to the show.

I understand why he did it, worried that Gallant was going to run Rio after the game was getting out of hand. Kinda like pulling your starting QB in garbage time.

So far it's been a master stroke by Gallant and its Flynn's turn to see if he can counter by matching the Sea Dogs' emotion. I mean they did outshoot them last game with some serious chances- Cousineau was just brilliant though.

They really don't have to change much but they do have to play with a whole lot more urgency and that includes Riopel.

Cats come back with a 5-1 victory.
Rio stops 30 of 31 shots and MacAusland gets a pair. Flynn now has a 3-2 series lead with game 6 at the Coliseum Monday night.

I know Rio makes the saves and all, but i have seen rio play from when he started to now, and this year he just looks shaky, i don't know why, Am I the only one seeing this??, i think he had poor rebound control, and battles the puck alot, but somehow he still stops the puck, seriously though Am I the only one seeing this??, cuz at the looks of it he only plays well away!!,

Most goalies rely on the defenseman to clear the puck on most saves that they make. Just because Riopel gives up a rebound instead hanging on to it doesn't make him a bad goalie.

You just have to go back to last year. Riopel didn't break all those records because he was playing like he had glue on his jersey. The team played efficient defense and all he needed to do is make the saves that needed to be made and let the team do the job they are supposed to do.

I think you must be the only one seeing it then, because from what I've seen since he's been back with the Cats this year (only missed 1 or 2 home games) he's been solid and in the playoffs he's kept the Cats in the games where they haven't bothered showing up until the 2nd or 3rd period and that's given them a few wins. IMO in this series you can see how much worse Cousineau's rebound control has been, he's keeping the Sea Dogs in most games, but the last 2 games he's been coughing up rebounds straight into the slot where if the Cats had been more opportunistic they would have become easy goals.

I dont believe the team has completely come forward with it, but I've heard it is either a knee injury or a high ankle sprain. He began the series with crutches and a noticeable limp, but has seemed to recover a little, to the point where he has reportedly been practicing.

Right now I think Moncton is holding him out until they absolutely need him, ie. game 7.

Damn! I thought they meant Rogers Sportsnet! Although the only team Sportsnet cares about is Windsor because of Hall

Can't wait for the game!! Go Cats Go!!!

I can't get over the Riopel comment. The guy took the trophy for best goaltender last season , if he had played the entire season in Moncton would have won again this season. If it were not for him the Cats would not have made it this far (imo). Just look at his stats:
Riopel, Nicola Mon 20 20 15 4 0 1231.21 42 0 3 2.05 582 624 0.933 30.4

Would you rather Cousineau lead your team to the Mem Cup??

Congratulations to the Moncton Wildcats for winning the Presidents Trophy and earning a birth in the Memorial Cup. While Saint John came up a bit short, they had an incredible season and should be one of the top teams next year. It is good to see that Moncton was able to do it in front of their fans at the Colisee. I'd also like to congratulate Gabriel Bourque for being named playoff MVP. Danny Flynn did a great job at constructing a winning team and was able to make some key acquisitions at the deadline. I think Moncton matches well with the three other teams advancing to the Memorial Cup. Their defense, physical forwards and Nicola Riopel should give them a strong chance to win it all. It looks like they'll play Calgary on Saturday at 1:00 PM MST (4:00 PM AST) for their first game.

Woo! Go Cats!

And what an amazing atmosphere in the Coliseum tonight, never seen it as loud as that. Congratulations to the Cats and Dogs, both team gave us a great series and I'm going to say it right now, Dogs will get their Presidents Cup next year or in 2012, if not both.

It's going to be tough to watch the Cats now after having witnessed this machine play the last half year. Deschamps, Bourque, Tessier, Riopel, Brannon, Gormley, Savard, Cameron could have all played their last game for the Wildcats on home ice tonight. Gotta love finishing it like that though And I just loved seeing Brannon getting that final empty net goal too, just like he's accustomed us to during all his time in Moncton, by giving it his all, never quitting on a play and working harder than the opposition, a true captain.

Oh, and back to that goalie pulling offense Flynn supposedly pulled. Hi Mike Hoffman, nice job of bowling over Rio.

congrats to Moncton, they truly have a good team out there. They made a lot of great moves and it's paying off. Glad to see Kelsey get a shot at the Memorial Cup.
