The Bruins aren't goons, but they are not a soft team. Go after Bergeron or Savard and find out.
while the bruins definitely are not a soft team by any stretch, I do remember watching bergeron and savard both getting taken out in respective years by two teams, with little to no fall out to either club... so i'll take that with a grain of salt.
That said, I can't wait for this series, I hope its hard fought and less penalty filled than our last series. I just have a gut feeling this one will be reminiscent of the 2004 Toronto series, which just happened to follow a round one 4-1 victory over the debbies as well .
all respect to boston, but im not scared our defense is gonna yet prove its self and our 2 top lines beat there 2 and is split for 3rd and forth, i think we might take it in 5 to be honest !!!!!!!!!!!!!! go flyers go
Chara won't be involved in any fights within the first 58 minutes of the game.
The Flyers will have to out-defense the Bruins, they do have trouble scoring, but they also get Marc Savard back, and their lineup of centers is that much more formidable when adding in a guy of Savard's caliber -- under the assumption that he's full boar from Game 1.
And don't think that his return won't give the Bruins a jolt themselves.
This series should be a bloodbath. Tuukka Rask is all kinds of spectacular, we've been playing unbelievable defense, and neither of these teams exactly lights up the scoreboard. It should be a tight, low-scoring, grind-it-out series. Of course, that means it'll probably turn into a goal scoring bonanza. I'm excited to get a rivalry with the Bruins back on track.
Ain't it funny how things go that way sometimes? Gotta love sports (especially hockey) for that very reason.
Can't wait to see the boys back in action. Seems like it's been forever since the NJ series ended.
Living smack dab in the middle of Bruins country this is going to be alot of fun. The Habs/Caps series wasnt more then 5 minutes old and my boss was starting on right away with the your going down bs. The smack talk at work is gonna be fun.
Anyway I would put Pronger right on Savard. Test his resolve. hit him, knock him down. be physcial with him. See if hes willing to compete.
I think you are going to see a long hard fought series. its going to be physcial, its going to be nasty. I cant wait. Its been too damn long since we have played in the playoffs.
Good point. There's a reason why I am told they pay their teachers 100k there.
Lived right in the middle of that from the time I was 5 till I was 18...in high school, I had on of maybe the 10 *********, oldest, cheapest cars in the student lot. It was a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta with under 60,000 miles on it.
But it's a beautiful place, if you like corny self-loathing almost-millionaire alcoholics and their trophy wives.
Wish we were ****ing healthy...getting to the ECF would be almost automatic.
Not automatic, but in this series it would really help. Chara would be matched up against Carter and Richards and Giroux wouldn't have a lot to worry about concerning who they would face all series long. Add in that Chara hasn't looked too good against Staal last year, the Flyers would be my clear cut favorite.
It's going to be difficult, the Bruins have 3 scoring lines with Savard back in the lineup, we only have 2 d-pairings I would trust to shut them down. Parent better step it up.
