Kings have the 22nd pick right?

Versteeg

1st 2010
Ersberg

seems fair.

I don't think CAR would take Sopel especially at that price, Osala for Byfuglien is close value so then you're dumping Sopel for virtually nothing.

Atlanta deal is no where near attractive enough for Atlanta to take on Huet, with their cap restrictions they probably can't take him on anyway.

I know, that no one (Fans especially) wants Huet. But they have no Signed Goalie and Pavelec seems not to be ready to be a 60+ Games Goalie.

And they upgrade their 2nd to a late 1st + get Buffy and a 2nd next year.
for Reasoner and the Overpaid Goalie.

Definitely agree that Pavlec isn't ready to be a full time starter but they shouldn't have a problem finding a guy to play 30 ish games this year with guys like Turco, Biron and Ellis hitting the market.

Breaks down like this

2nd + Reasoner = Byfuglien
1st + Huet + 2nd just isn't attractive enough. The first is good but given it's going to be late it isn't going to help Thrash much in the short term and the 2nd in 11 is even further off helping.

Isn't the draft in LA this year? I highly doubt they trade their first round pick unless they move up.

That is a horrible trade for the Wild. Just terrible.

2a.

Dustin Byfuglien
Brent Sopel

Tyler Cuma
3rd

Wild take on 5.5 million in salary, trade away one of their top D prospects, and add a pick for good measure and get exactly what? Two players they don't want or need.

The value seems fair, but does it really solve any of LA's problems? They need a solid defenseman or an upgrade somewhere on the wing to replace Frolov, and I'm not sure Steeg fits that. Sharp on the other hand...

I honestly think that makes absolutely no difference to Lombardi. If he feels a trade will improve his team, he'll trade the pick.

Agreed. HORRIBLE trade from the Wild's point of view. We give up way too much for parts we don't even really need at this point in time.

The Thrashers do not want Huet.

How bout NJ's first (24th-ish) for Versteeg?

I think the op's king deal is fair value and I'd have to consider it.

I started to just talk at the computer but that didn't get me anywhere.

That first proposal - no. Hawks can have EE at the start of next year when he has to clear waivers because he isn't going to make the Kings lineup next year with Quick and Bernier. The talk right now is him going to Europe. I'd also be surprised to see the Hawks trade for picks with the Kings when we are loaded with talented prospects. Yes, we do have a 2nd round pick - in fact we have 2 of them.

Second proposal - yes please!

I'd prefer Sharp over Versteeg but that is a steal for Whiskey and a 2nd/6th.

On a side note - I would be willing to wager that DL would be just as happy to announce a trade as to make a pick in the 1st round.

Reasoner has been the thrashers most hard working player the past two years. And gets the upmost respect from every member of the team. Trading him would be a sin.

In addition, Reasoner is also the teams best PK player, a good faceoff man and one of the few veteran leaders the team has. He is very valuable to Atlanta.

For the Canes keep Sopel and I'll do it. Giving us Sopel is making us take on a salary dump and Rutherford isn't in any mood to take on dumps. Osla + 2nd for Byfuglien
seems fair to me.
