You wouldn't want a Jagr or Yashin on this team? :lol

The Leafs will absolutley not trade Owen Nolan . The only team that I could see any interest in Nolan would be Detroit. But who cares we need Nolan next year if we want to contend. I strongly feel Nolan will have a strong year in 2005-2006 and you will all be to his feet.

Exactly monkey - everyone said he was damaged goods and he is. Has chronic back problems. At the moment he is untradeable because of the uncertainity of the new CBA and his injury problems.

Very best thing for the Leafs is to have him retire and thus free up some money for free agents.

I think clearly Nolan was brought in for a serious Stanley Cup run in 2002 - 2003. Leafs knew they were taking a chance for some long term pain but the chance at the Cup was deemed worth it.

It could be that if the 2004 -2005 season goes in the tank and Nolan is, through possible surgery or through other means, able to rehabilitate his back then the Leafs might get one more decent season out of him. However this is far too great a risk for other teams to screw up their payrolls by taking on Nolan.

I think this would be common viewpoint throughout the league.

The Caps are dumping salary and trying to get younger... I have the feeling that Owen doesn't match that scenario. Also, there is no way they trade their first round pick... no way.

He has been a disapointment so far as a leaf. Im willing to give him one more year. Let him heal over the summer, and come to camp ready. Lets just hope we see the old Owen next year.
