The regular season is a good reference point but not much more than that. As you said, the Habs weren't at all the same team on the ice in terms of roster, continuity, confidence, etc as now and, of course, the playoffs is totally different hockey - as shown by how Hal Gill has gone from goat to hero so quickly. Speaking of "Skillsie Gillsie"....I wonder how much inside knowledge he will really be able to pass along from his time with the Pengus. At the least, he should be able to advise about their tendencies and comfort in certain situations. The systems may adjust and change but, when things break down, players will always always rely on their natural tendencies and comfort zones.
