Visitors to this forum for the Flyers-Blackhawks' series -- Advance notice
Should you feel the need the need to go to the Blackhawks' board, remember it's not your home board. Post in a respectful manner or face the consequences. The same applies to Blackhawks' fans visiting out board.
Trolling: Do not post topics with the sole purpose of starting a dispute. Note that a person disagreeing with your opinion is NOT trolling; keep it civil, even if you're sure the other person is wrong. When visiting the team forums please note that they are fan forums for that team and are here mainly for the enjoyment of that team's fans. Do not visit team forums to cheer against or demean their team, or cheer for their opponent. In other words, if you want to cheer for the Habs and criticize the Bruins, do it on the Habs board. And if someone is doing the opposite on the Bruins board, don't start flaming them to defend the honor of your team. Either ignore it respectfully disagree and move on. Wishing illness or injury on someone will almost always be regarded as trolling or offensive. We do not permit team forums to be used to demean/insult the fans of other teams. That is considered trolling. Bringing posts from one team forum to another for this purpose is also considered trolling.
Flaming: Do not post any messages that harass, insult (name calling), belittle, threaten or mock other members. Debates are fine, but critique the opinion, not the person. Personal attacks are not permitted. Do not use sweeping generalizations and plural pronouns to cloak personal attacks. For example if a poster(s) states that he thinks 'x' is a good idea, replying that "Anyone who supports 'x' is an idiot" is a personal attack. Do not start threads to call out and embarrass other members; or make posts about ignore lists. Quotes by other members are not to be edited. You may reply to a partial quote, but do not change the quoted content in any way. No one likes to be misrepresented or have words put in their mouth.
This will be in effect for all series discussion topics including GDTs and subsequent threads.
As a friendly reminder and as a refresher, this is the Flyers' forum. We all agreed to certain site rules when we signed up to HF. This is not the board to visit and leave messages that can be viewed as trolling.
While we welcome discussion and conversation, team forums, especially in the Stanley Cup Finals, can become heated and we will delete posts and issue forum bans if needed.
In some cases, those bans can lead to restriction of posting privileges in other boards especially depending on previous infractions. We don't want to infract nor is there a sense of enjoyment but this forum will be run to the strictest of implementation.
As always, there will be a discussion thread on the main board. How that board is regulated differs vastly from this forum.
And Flyers' fans, do not go into the Blackhawks' board unless you follow the same procedures. The overwhelming majority of you are fine and you know how our board operates.
We've had two prior series with this policy and it has worked efficiently.

We ask that if a member from another board does comes here and flames, trolls or ruffles the feathers...that you report the post and let Mods deal with it.
Enjoy the series, it should be some good old-time hockey!
It should be remembered that despite trolls and such, if you purposely engage them - you are becoming part of the problem. That's no better or worse than actually being a troll. Large fan bases usually mean a more heated series, but we've kept it civil before in these situations.
