Really Bad Trades Other Teams Propose Involving The Wild

I don't know if it's because there aren't too many Wild fans on HF or that the team doesn't have exciting players, but there are a lot of bad trade proposals. It seems as if for every good one there are at least five or six bad ones and I figured it would fun to just post them all in one spot as a common courtesy.

First candidate
:
To Minnesota
Brian Campbell 7.25
Kris Versteeg 3.0
2010 1st round pick [Chicago]

To Chicago
Evander Kane 3.1 [inc bonuses]

To Atlanta
Martin Havlat 5.0

I think that, overall, most of the trade proposals are horrible, regardless of it being around MN.

I wasn't going to generalize but most fans don't know other teams' economies, needs, etc. They overvalue their own assets and target the other teams' best prospect or player and think quantity=quality.

I still like to browse them, though, because it is still fun to discuss value and needs/wants.

Great minds think alike.

Never mind Havlat's NTC. Or is it a NMC?

Never mind Zidlicky's 1.5 year NTC.

I'd like to have Alexander Semin on the roster though.

Sad thing about that one is I'm wondering why Washington would do that. If anything, Minnesota wins out (and it's not by much) because the only reason for the Caps to let Semin go is to save cap space. That just adds a couple million.

Post something about Kaberle, and there's some crazy proposals for him, but most of everyone knows about Kaberle on HF. The Atlanta Chicago Minnesota trade makes no sense for anyone but Chicago. Why would Atlanta want to trade Kane? Why would we want to add a $7M a year d-man when we already have a ton?

The second deal is...odd. It's not as crazy as some, but doesn't really make sense.

Looked it up - Havlat has a NMC the first five years of his deal and a NMC/limited NTC for the last one.

Of course every trade in there is basically one-sided.

It would be nice if that rumor board had a NTC/NMC sticky for people to reference/ignore before they made stupid trade proposals.

that would just force people to include the phrase "convince Player X to waive his NTC/NMC". the proposal would still be posted, unfortunately.

I've seen enough offers of Brent Sopel to last a lifetime.

At least the proposals to steal Burns have stopped for now.

Honestly, if it was Kuba, Lee, Foligno and the 2011 2nd rounder for just our 2010 first, I still wouldn't do it, nevermind throwing the Wolverine in there.

We're looking for quality, not quantity. I doubt we trade our pick.

Holy crap at what Minnesota's defense would be with that counter-offer.

Not a legit candidate yet, but there could be some dandies due to the open-endness of the original post (Burns + for Ribeiro +).

The problem is two fold, Wild fan overvalue their prospects, players and other teams undervalue them. Hackett and Haula are great for Minnesota but they are a dime a dozen prospects.

If anything, Wild fans undervalue their prospects due to the fact that all we do is rip on the lack of any good ones. And if anyone actually brings up a trade involving Haula and Hackett, it will be the second time ever.

We actually had a decent proposal with Florida, what's going on with all of these proposals with us all the sudden? Problem is we don't want to trade any of our good guys away lol.

I wonder what will happen.

No we don't...we don't undervalue our prospects at all. Look at what Leddy brought in!

We overvalue our prospects though.

Similar to Candidate #3, we have another "defenseman for Minnesotan and other players we want to get rid of."
