Lol maybe that's why Pittsburgh are favorite at 15 for 1 in Vegas, Letang??

Nice try!

Anyone else finds it funny how the players are constantly trying to put the pressure on the other team? It happened throughout the Capitals series and it's continuing now. It's like they're all trying to fool themselves and make people believe that we are the ones under pressure.

No matter what he declares in the Media, he very well knows they're highly favorites.
Defending Stanley Cup Champions versus 8th seed in East..really, deep down, he knows that the pressure is on them.

Cammalleri's response to Letang.

Quote:
While the eighth-seeded Habs know exactly how they stack up on paper against Pittsburgh, Pens defenseman Kris Letang said on Wednesday that after watching the Canadiens knock off the No. 1 seed, it’s the Penguins who now get to play the underdog card in Round 2.

“That’s a very intelligent comment by him, but I would say that they’re still the favorites,” described Michael Cammalleri, who led the Habs with 10 points in seven games. “If you polled the people in this room, other than the guys on the team, most of you would pick Pittsburgh to win and they’re the defending Stanley Cup champs so they’ve earned that respect.

“But we’ve seen it once and we’ll see it again now: it’s two teams, one puck and we’ll see what happens next

Trying to revert the pressure! I love being the 8th seed.. If we win then "HELL JES!!" but if we lose then "What did you expect, we're the 8th seed"...

There's 0 pressure

We suck, we will lose in 4. Pittsburgh is the team of the decade. No questions asked. They will crush us. We are doomed. We do not belong in the same league. We should have played the Manitoba Moose.

Srsly? Stanley cup champs? Let the game begin boys!
All he is doing is trying to deflect the real pressure from the Pens, the Habs are the underdogs....but the Pens coaching staff have obviously taken notice of the Habs ability to play great on the PP and PK, shutting down of Semin completely along with Green, plus the biggest shutdown on Backstrom and Ovechkin in the final two games. That and the shot blocking we have been doing too....not to mention some great goaltending as well in a guy named Halak.

It's all a ploy on Letang's part.

I agree with Cammy, and Cammy handled that very nicely.

It's a tactically smart move on Letang's part, even if it is pretty transparent.

The Caps did the exact wrong thing by basically trash-talking the Habs (the slams on Pleks and Halak, as well as some of BB and Green's comments).

In the playoffs, you don't want to give the opposing team added motivation to win. By showing them more respect than they deserve, you cut down on giving them such motivation.

Man, are all athlete's pansy's when it comes to being favorites?

"NO NOT ME. THERE'S EXPECTATIONS WITH THAT...call us...hmmm the underdog"

"but...you're undefeated..."

"we're the underdog god damnit!"

We're the favorites? NO WAY, YOU GUYS ARE WAAAAY BETTER. You'll clearly beat us in 4, we don't stand a chance. It's gonna be a sweep. A SA-WEEP. WE are the underdogs, *******.

kinda sad when you don't believe in your team...specially when you went 1/2 in the SC finals the past two years.

was he actually thinking for a SECOND that anyone is going to believe that bull cocky. I think the only thing he's afraid of is (growing up a Habs fan, he knows well) the fact that the ghosts may have risen, and when that happens, well, there's not much you can do. I love our team, so I'm not even going to get into favourites even though it's prrrretty clear that the pens are>>>the caps (they're a complete team), cuz as we've seen, anything can happen.

Naw, naw, naw! You guys all misunderstood poor Krisy Le Tang orange juice.

You see, he had just seen the numbers for the Caps & Habs final on TSN. 4.7 mill I think, combined with RDS numbers. So he was answering a reporter's question: who do you think is Canada's team?

That's what he meant. The Habs are the hands down favorites.
