Anyone else finds it funny how the players are constantly trying to put the pressure on the other team? It happened throughout the Capitals series and it's continuing now. It's like they're all trying to fool themselves and make people believe that we are the ones under pressure.
While the eighth-seeded Habs know exactly how they stack up on paper against Pittsburgh, Pens defenseman Kris Letang said on Wednesday that after watching the Canadiens knock off the No. 1 seed, it’s the Penguins who now get to play the underdog card in Round 2.
“That’s a very intelligent comment by him, but I would say that they’re still the favorites,” described Michael Cammalleri, who led the Habs with 10 points in seven games. “If you polled the people in this room, other than the guys on the team, most of you would pick Pittsburgh to win and they’re the defending Stanley Cup champs so they’ve earned that respect.
“But we’ve seen it once and we’ll see it again now: it’s two teams, one puck and we’ll see what happens next
Srsly? Stanley cup champs? Let the game begin boys!
All he is doing is trying to deflect the real pressure from the Pens, the Habs are the underdogs....but the Pens coaching staff have obviously taken notice of the Habs ability to play great on the PP and PK, shutting down of Semin completely along with Green, plus the biggest shutdown on Backstrom and Ovechkin in the final two games. That and the shot blocking we have been doing too....not to mention some great goaltending as well in a guy named Halak.
kinda sad when you don't believe in your team...specially when you went 1/2 in the SC finals the past two years.
was he actually thinking for a SECOND that anyone is going to believe that bull cocky. I think the only thing he's afraid of is (growing up a Habs fan, he knows well) the fact that the ghosts may have risen, and when that happens, well, there's not much you can do. I love our team, so I'm not even going to get into favourites even though it's prrrretty clear that the pens are>>>the caps (they're a complete team), cuz as we've seen, anything can happen.
