Two years ago I went to New York for vacation. Last year was Europe. I've decided that this year it'll be Nashville, I'm hoping to see some good country music and even better hockey when I do!

You'll enjoy yourself. Just don't plan any trip until November. A few weeks before you come down you should come by and ask us for places to visit. We'll point you to the best food, music, and atmosphere in the city.

Went to your fine city for the NHL draft. Great people and great downtown. Not that any city deserves this less or more than another, but I was so impressed with everything about Nashville. Hope to drive down from Columbus next year to catch a Sharks game and bring some $$$ your way.

The Vandy baseball game vs. Louisville next Tuesday will be free admission with essentially open donations all game long. I'm going out of town on Saturday but if I wasn't I would totally go.

You should come to town when there is a Saturday night home game. It's always fun downtown but Saturday nights tend to get a lot of spill-over in the bars after the game. Especially when teams nearby come to town such as St. Louis and Columbus.

Hey all. I've seen some of the pics posted by Ellis and Sullivan's Twitter accounts. I hope all are safe and well.

Thanks ... I'm kinda pissed that it was only a 15 minute blurb on the Weekend News (really you had to do 2 days of Times Square Bomber/Oil Spill) ... I'm still shocked by the video of the School floating down I-24 @ Bell Road on Saturday ... I'm gonna volunteer this weekend (gotta break out the shovel/boots/jeans)

Anderson Cooper (or someone from his show) is supposedly coming to Nashville Thursday.

Whenever some national news person starts talking to someone about the flood, they always say "well we were preoccupied with oil, terrorist, but that's no excuse...", well if it was no excuse then why was no one down here in the first place. Send someone, it doesn't have to be the main anchor. The freaking Weather Channel had more/better coverage than all these national shows. It's only taking 4-5 days after the flood to realize how bad it actually was/is.

Apparently I had good reason to be worried: Confirmed tornado touched down in Rivergate and Hendersonville Sunday morning.

Channel 4's telethon, "Flood Relief with Vince Gill & Friends" helped raise more than $1.7 million for the Salvation Army, The Red Cross and The Second Harvest Food Bank..
It was only a 4 hour telethon.

Plus the other news channels have been doing smaller telethons and raising near/over $100,000

Ways to donate

I guess it reflects the generosity in our state that I was unable to get through for over an hour.

Guess I went in the wrong group. Most of the sales staff, including myself, were out all day today volunteering in different areas around the area. I went to Bellevue and helped an older lady (upper 50's) totally strip her house down. Emptied out all her furniture, tore the dry walls down, took out insulation, and tore out the floors. I felt so bad for her, but she seemed to have a good outlook on it. If you have the chance, please go out and volunteer to help out. You'll be happy you did.

I also have a lot of respect for Taylor Swifts $500,000 donation. Good for her. She's got a good head on her shoulders.

I've been working out in the Pennington Bend area today, and man, God bless those families. It's rough. The couple that I was helping had no one that could lift anything and we basically had to carry everything inside and put it outside. There was still standing water in their house.
