How about Joash Geese? Sentimental pick or make sense after all? From what I recall, but it's not a whole lot, he catched my eye in some occasions 'cause of how agressive he was.
But I'd be fine with Gore.

And I loooove Emry. This guy is freakin nuts. And that's why I love him....would like to see a character like that with the Habs...
A potential gamebreaker on the board that could help fill the gap once our best Canadian receiver retires and arguably the most dynamic player all positions considered in this year's draft is passed up for another ****ing lineman.
This guy should be pretty solid. I was hearing a lot of buzz about the Texans being all over him before the NFL Draft (they eventually gave him a free agent contract). I don't expect him to put on an Als jersey for at least another year though.
Well shocking which is what it seems. But it's tough to judge Popp since not only he has a great drafting record as far as guys that are playing in the league AND make a difference....

But clearly as unsexy pick you can get.
I completely understand your point of view and I agree he has a great track record.
But Cahoon and Calvillo are not going to play forever and you can only dress so many offensive linemen.
Gore is either going to play in the NFL or be a star here. There's no doubt in my mind. I watched too many Bishop's games to not have figured that out.

I'd like to know something though. And I'm totally not doubting your opinion, can't say I've watched him a whole lot, sometimes, but not a whole lot.
Yet, 2 WR went before him. While they say that the local flavor was one of the reasons for the Riders pick, how about Watson ahead of him? Watson is pretty interesting as well isn't he?
****, ****, ****, teams are going on a receiver run.

Pretty simple, Gore is generating interest in the NFL and may never play on a CFL field. But we're in a different position from other teams because : we've had a constant influx of young talent AND we've got a talented and big group of Canadian players.
We can take a chance on the most talented guy in the draft. If he plays here, he'll be one of our greatest weapons on offense and a guy to replace Cahoon in the slot as a Canadian.
