You aren't giving our players anywhere near enough credit. We don't give up good scoring chances, just force shots from the outside. Its called smart hockey. If we don't let them get traffic they don't score. We also don't make turnovers that lead to odd man rushes.

Its Crosby. He gets away with lots of stuff. He gets away with at least 1 obvious penalty every period.

The Pens have been all over the Habs. It's like men vs boys out there. Habs are lucky to get out of the zone most of the time. Sure they squeaked out a win, but Pittsburgh is by far the better team.

Just wait till we get rid of the dead weight Kost sisters next season!!!

Amen to that. All unselfish clutch players.

No passengers on that list of names, except the Kost.

Awesome win, even though we were standing still during most of the game watching the Pens work.

And F%#$%ing Letang with the ol Stick-in-the-Groin on Moen at the end. Somebody hammer this guy in the series.

"why did no one go after Adams? sad."

In response to this. The NHL publicly stated after altercation in the late minutes of the game or when they game is out of reach will be subjected to disciplinary review and potential suspension. If we fought Adams, we would lose a player for that jackass, whereas now he could be suspended without us losing anyone.

Win on our end

Game 1 : "Holy crap, we're not playing the Capitals anymore..."
Game 2 : "Hey... We're playing the Penguins."

I think that was the difference. Going into Game 1, with little rest, the Habs still had the mind-set of playing against the Capitals. They weren't prepared for the powerful PP of the Penguins, nor were they ready for their forecheck. Game 2 rolls around and suddenly the Habs have the idea of how to shut down the Penguins and keep them to the side of the boards. Another huge contribution to the win was the shot blocking count.

Good game by the Habs.

pittsburgh trailing going in to the third, suddenly getting calls and getting away with more, why does that sound familiar.

Hammer & PK
Gorges & Gill

2 excellent defence pairings today. OB was physical and solid, if Spacek can get back he would be such an upgrade over MAB giving us a 3rd solid pairing.

Not surprised by the win

A little rest, some adjustments, especially in the PK deptartment

JM is the kind of coach who uses the 1st games to see what's working and not, then adjusts

I hate it when our fans don't give respect when it's due.... Hamrlik was a freaking beast tonight, his best game in the playoffs so far!! I haven't seen anyone giving him props, he deserves some!

The most he'll get is a game, in the playoffs especially. But I agree with you, it would have been the wrong to go after him.

Very good and responsible defensive play. Halak was solid but did not win this game, the whole team did.

We're playing against Marc-Andre freicking Fleury. We've got the better goaltender BY FAR...we potted 3 goals on, what, 20 shots today? As long as we stop letting them play so long in our zone, I have no problem if we win this way.

Sound defense (didn't get that much today other than taking away the lower part of the zone) + goals on low shot totals = Jacques Martin hockey
