Idea for Mods, Writers - Pseudo Draft 2004

What do you think about having a fake 2004 draft with the HF writers/mods for each prospective team picking for their team. I'm assuming that they would have a better idea as to the needs of a team better than most posters would.

The first annual HF Writer Mock Draft would be great.

This actually used to be done a while ago, but the last few years, it hasn't been.

I thought it was always an awesome idea and I'd be much in favor of bringing it back!

I think the writers/editors should do a draft but they must put together their own scouting team using people from their own board. You could even have it on the HF chat server.

I would like it to go past 1 round though, maybe 3?

I think a mock draft of 3 rounds would be a GREAT addition to the draft center this year!

Most mocks on hockey sites wouldn't go past the first round.

I know but the HF Magazine draft issue had draft projections thru all 9 rounds. So I thought between all of us that we would be able to get at least three rounds out.

I used to run an extensive mock draft (the one Brock is referring to) a few years back.

If you want... I'd help out organizing another one later this year.

I think a 2 round mock draft would be ideal. I think after that, most of the really exciting young talent is gone.

I'm in for a mock draft... three rounds at least.

I'd say it needs to be done in real time as much as possible, in a live chat room ior something that everyone has access to.

I'm willing to help set it up if this really has a chance of happening.

ok screw this i'm taking some initiative since people can't seem to be getting things together here.

Anaheim Mighty Ducks -
Atlanta Thrashers -
Boston Bruins -
Buffalo Sabres - Chainshot
Calgary Flames -
Chicago Blackhawks -
Columbus Blue Jackets -
Colorado Avalanche -
Carolina Hurricanes -
Dallas Stars -
Detroit Red Wings - Spitfire11
Edmonton Oilers -
Florida Panthers -
Los Angeles Kings -
Minnesota Wild -
Montreal Canadiens -
Nashville Predators - nomorekids
New Jersey Devils -
New York Islanders -
New York Rangers -
Philadelphia Flyers -
Pittsburgh Penguins -
Phoenix Coyotes -
San Jose Sharks -
St Louis Blues - Prussian Blue
Ottawa Senators -
Tampa Bay Lightning -
Toronto Maple Leafs -
Vancouver Canucks - Pangolin,Mizral
Washington Capitals -

ok i will be the commisioner of the draft, trading picks is allowed BUT ONLY PICKS! no players/prospects that the team currently owns, the draft order will be sorted out once the teams have been claimed.

Remember this is for mods/admins/staff only so guys get down to it and claim your teams asap! Lets get this done before the actual draft takes place eh

Unless someone else wants it (Ken, Buff...) I would happily take Buffalo.

Let me know a time and day. Oh, and where too.

Well rabi, you can give Guy the lead hand in Edmonton. Since there is no Dallas writer, I would take them over.

Also you should PM Ken and see if there was any criteria that he wanted followed for this draft.

Rabi, the staff board is apparently planning one for the staff already so I'll take part in that one OK? Someone else can have the Oilers, give it to Lowetide.
