EA's NHL 11 to include OHL, WHL & QMJHL teams and players!

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/new-brunswi...qmjhl-nhl.html

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/juniorhoc...juniorsinnhl11

Dream come true for many of us hockey gamers. Next step..NCAA teams.

Rumors have been floating around in recent weeks, but this is finally confirmation.

I doubt we'll have actual player names, but I can see them allowing people to upload files (like in their NCAA franchise) so we can add the names to the correct numbers and attributes by download.

edit: WOW http://www.marketwatch.com/story/can...k=MW_news_stmp

The licensing agreement between EA SPORTS and the CHL allows the following to be included in NHL 11:

-- Ability to play with all 60 teams that make up the CHL

-- Names and Likenesses of players that are on the rosters of a CHL team

-- Mastercard Memorial Cup

-- CHL new RBK Edge Jersey design in NHL 11

-- WHL, OHL and QMJHL logos and league structures

The CHL integration in NHL 11 will tie to several modes in the game, including Be A Pro, Be A GM, Tournament Mode, Season Mode and Playoff Mode.

So does this mean that the scouting and drafting system will possibly be better?! or is it just a new mode where you play as a team in the OHL and do absolutely nothing we you play Dynasty mode with an NHL team?

oh and any news on the KHL teams? They completely sacked that league in NHL10. I was very pissed by that.

Hopefully it will be implemented into the Be A GM mode.

It's so unrealistic that we have to sign our recent draftees right away, or we lose their rights. It'd be great to have our prospects develop in the CHL before playing in the AHL.

That's awesome. Maybe this year is the year they finally revamp Be a GM and include what we've been asking for years: junior level so you don't have to sign your draftees right away, RFA's, a more realistic free agent system where star players don't miss complete seasons because nobody can sign them, etc.

I agree absolutely, not only that but its like AHL or bust. Your rookies never get to develop. I mean I end up drafting a 68 overall with A potential, and he doesnt even get a roster spot on my AHL team its such a waste. They should also impliment the RFA system and the during the year contract extensions and buyouts. This everything from June 25 to July 1st crap is so annoying and BS.

Do you mean a more realistic free agent system where star players don't miss complete seasons?

Because I recently went through a few years (in-game time) of Be a GM Mode in NHL 2010, and Patrick Marleau (at overall 87) went unsigned for three years!

I found that pretty absurd, honestly. How Marleau (in the game) wouldn't lower his contract demands so some team could sign him. I guess I could make-believe that he went to the KHL for 3 years, but still.

Anyway, yeah, the next NHL game really needs restricted free agency, and the CHL developmental leagues. I'd also like to see the trading system revamped a bit so it's harder to get elite-level talent (players rated 85 or above), and for draft picks to be worth a bit more. It's hilarious how I acquired a premium draft pick for basically two career AHLers.

I also agree with Yarfangor with how there needs to be a way to resign your upcoming free agents during the season. I also don't see why trading is completely disabled from the first day after the NHL draft to July 1st. Going by this system, Scott Gomez never becomes a Montreal Canadien because the trade was made at an illegitimate time.

In fairness, I found the NHL 2010 trading system better than the previous NHL games, but it still needs some tweaking to be perfected.

I think they have to wait until a player have played at least one game in the AHL or NHL

Nah, if they get the license for the leagues (like they do with Europeen leagues) they would be able to put them in the game. Right now the reason draftees have **** up names or are not in the game is because they did not have the license for those leagues.

I hope we get real names. I think they'll do like Madden does with dynasties, where they'll have numbers and comparable qualities for the stars (Hall, Seguin, Couturier, etc), and just ballpark the non-NHLers.
It would be frustrating figuring out who's who.
But it would be cool because we could all have some people who we know in real life (a bunch of us must know at least some junior players) who are in video games.

Would be nice if they took the scouting to a new level and put actual words.... "Can stick handle in a phone booth", "Blazes by his opponents with electric speed" and the players speed would actually be 89-99

That Swedish D Bergstrom ends up being a great 2nd round steal as well.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Look at the NCAA franchise (for both EA and 2K), they have the teams, but there are no player names. That's why they made a feature where you can upload/download files (user made) that contain the names.

I've gotten A- potential(total) in 3rd and 4th rounds.

Other than that, There's several good swedish D in the first draft. Leclaire, obsut, along with a few others are good forwards. Goalies you don't bother drafting early, it's a waste IMO.

I don't play be a GM anymore. Is it just me or has this part of the game been so bland? I get it, new phones, new trade deadline stuff, k cool whatever. Just same old game, how about new elements? Media? Owner pressure? ANYTHING to make it challenging. I don't know. Players used to ask for trades, now people seem content being 80 overall and in the minors, doesn't make sense.
