Patrick Roy was on OTR and here are the highlights when he spoke of our goaltenders.

ON JAROSLAV HALAK
"The ultimate test was when he was pulled; he did not start Game 4 against Washington. Even me, to be honest with you, I'd be rattled," explained Roy. "I don't know if I could have bounced back for Game 5."
"I'm very impressed the way he has dealt with the situation with Price, and he responded really well in Games 5, 6, and 7," Roy said on OTR. "That is the part that impressed me the most. Yes, he won those games, but being able to come back and perform at the level is something you don't see."

ON CAREY PRICE
"It can't be easy for him, obviously he wants to play. He had his chances, that's the way I look at it," said Roy. "They gave him all the opportunity to play, and during the season, don't get me wrong, if it wasn't for Halak, I don't think Montreal would be in the position they are in today. I don't think they would have made the playoffs. He had his chance."
"The good thing is, people are going to say, yeah, but he's only a year younger than Halak, and I think sometimes some guys take a little bit more time to develop than others," said Roy.
Really didn't expect comments like that about Halak coming from Roy. That has got the be the ultimate praise Halak will ever get. The last goaltender to win the Cup in Montreal, one of the best goalies in the NHL's history and someone Halak looks up to.
On the subject of Price. Needs more development? I've only been saying that since the first season he was on the team. Yes, he did have a good rookie campaign and yes, he also has a lot of potential. But potential needs to be developped properly and turned into a puck-stopping machine. In Price's case, he was said to be "the future", when really "the future" meant "the right-now". I feel bad for him because all this pressure was put on him so early, that anyone could struggle under that.
Really? Patrick Roy saying he doesn't even know if he could of bounced back the way Halak did in the Washington series? That is the ultimate praise from one of the best goaltenders of all-time.

I almost had a tear.... Seriously, he really dominated on those nights. Good for Halak to have good things come from people like Roy. But now the asking price for Halak will be even higher.. lol!!!
I thought it was getting a bit repetitive with all the ''Halaaaaaaaaaaaaak'' but then the Ovechkin part more than made up for it. Hilarious stuff, especially the shaking hand.

In case you're too young or didn't watch the superbowl's american advertisements between 99-02. This is a parody of the budweiser advertising campaign that aired during the 99 to 02 superbowls.
Here's the original (or is it ? Anyway, the 2000 one, maybe there's one before that, can't remember) :
This Off The Record is coming back on TSN(2?) in a couple of minutes, for those who missed it yesterday. I might watch it again as I eat some lunch.
People talking a lot about the Price and Halak bits, but I thought it was amusing listening to the bit about his son (who is on the show as well), and his fight, etc, and talking about what he "should say on TV" and what he really thinks, etc. Also good to hear that he and Roenick still joke with each other about the rings blocking the ears thing. Pretty decent interview.
