I agree. He's an interesting prospect. Who wouldn't like a 3rd or 4th line player with size, speed, that hits like a truck.

Doubt that it means much.

Assume every NHL team has personnel at every NHL playoff game.

Sheppard was somewhat decent when paired with Pouliot. Kid can pass the puck.

Exactly. Guy Lapointe is an amateur scout, not a pro scout - he scouts draft eligible players. I don't think Dick was necessarily implying that Guy was there scouting players for a trade - Guy was there because he gets a free ticket in any time he wants, and he also happens to be a scout.

I was also glad to see the headline changed - every Hab fan should know how to spell I-R-V-I-N - the best colour man in Habs' history.

My guess is that they are scouting our younger players because Minnesotta is in re-build mode now.

maybe they just wanted to see in person how badly they owned us in the Lats/Pouliot deal.

i like how we all think he's scouting for guys we don't want. maybe he's scouting halak. harding sucks and backstrom isn't doing as well without that defensive system in front of him.

Couldn't be, Gui! disappears in April and May.

Pouliot's having a rough post season, but if you compare his post-trade per-game numbers with Gui!, we did OK. I like his upside and anything to stop Bertrand from fawning over Gui! can not be bad... unless it's BGL

Every season they say "this is Sheppard's break out year." And it never happens.

Do you really want to try to save another failing prospect?

F that.

This. No doubt Wild will be the first team getting involved if Plek is not signed by July 1st.

Not sure who mentioned those names before, but any "deals" involving both bros for a combination involving guys like James Sheppard/Colton Gillies and picks? Clearly, we lose on potential pure talent, but in Gillies you gain in Martin's type of player. While in Sheppard, you gain in "probable" potential à la Pouliot.

Honestly, wouldn't be surprised that Minny thinks that Martin's system doesn't fit all and want to see if they can fit some of our players in theirs....

Unless they'd want to add let's say a Clutterbuck....Or a Scandella (wishful thinking)? Or Timmins in his Harvard trip has liked Alexander Fallstrom? Is Tyler Cuma on the right track or did he stall in his development? How about in addition of some of that, we swap picks from 15th to 9th with the addition of something on our side? Was Guy Lapointe impressed by Ben Maxwell?

I mean honestly.....with the Latendresse "success" so far, it is truly possible that Minny thinks they can relive the dead. There are some possibilities out there.
Gillies - sort of a wild card in terms of trade value
Clutterbuck - just re-signed him to a cheap, 3-year deal
Scandella - probably wishful thinking as the GM is high on him
Cuma - injuries have slightly derailed his development so next year will be interesting to see

Havlat has a no-movement clause for the next four years.

More like re-tooling on the fly.
