GDT: Flyers @ Lightning Game 2 ..19:30

We're down 1, I know a lot of us are wondering if we stand a chance to win this series, but you know what, all it takes is 1 win to put us back on track. I'm a little ticked because that game should have been game 1 when the Tampa rust was evident, but stealing game 2 before going back can prove to be bigger. Tampa is real good at blocking the middle of the ice... we'll need to find other ways to score goals. Hopefully Hitch is digging up those old Senators-Bolts matchups and studying what Ottawa did to egt to the net. We can take a lot of positives out of game 1, they only took 17 shots for Christ's sake, it is not impossible to win. But this 0-5 agaisnt them is really ugly. We need to stop this trend and hit them where it hurts. Leclair, please score a damn goal! It's time we start using Gagné a little more, he needs to be a catalyst in beating this team. We can do it fellas, I ain't ready to pack it up just yet. The Flyers ARE going to the cup!!!!!

Flyers 3 (Zhamnov, Primeau, Gagné)
Lightning 2 (St.Louis, Modin)

Flyers need to play like they did in the 1st period of Game 1. Can it be done? Yes. One of our biggest liabilities in Pitkanen is benched tonight. Sami has done well in the back end and I think will do fine for us tonight. The defense knows what mistakes they made and what they need to do to fix them. The forwards know that there was little traffic near Nik and that made the game easy for him. Guys like John, Keith, Michal, Rex, JR, Tony know that they need to get in close on Nik. If you get pucks in on him you will score, Zeus did it in Game 1.
On a side note, Flyers need to make the Bolts think twice about blocking a shot. Play physical and smart and the Flyers will win this game.

It would be nice if Seids was dressed tonight. His powerful shot would be a welcome addition.

this is a must-win game for us. We have all the tools to do it.

GO FLYERS !!

I have a feeling the Flyers are going to win by 3 goals tonight, just a feeling. We are going to come hard. Big games by Recchi, Primms, and Archie . YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

anyway, the Flyers have to win this game or it will be over.

Recchi has to show up tonight. with the flu or an injured foot slowing him down thus far, there are no more excuses...he has to step up. LeClair is almost like beating a dead horse, so I won't go there.

but, I think the most important thing we can do in this game is play for 60 minutes(which, this team does not like to do). I really do believe that we are the better team but we HAVE to play consistant hockey.

LET'S GO FLYERS!

This is a big game, but not key. Win this game, then everything doesn't become critical, lose it... it's still not over. A lose tonight means they HAVE TO wins game 3 and 4 in Philly. But I really think they can pull it out tonight. Tampa was supposed to be some juggernaut, but they didn't impress me much at all in game one... they're a good team, don't get me wrong, but the only reason they won was THEY cashed in on most of their opportunities, and the Flyers didn't. That's all it came down to.

I agree with you for the most part, but don't forget a 9 day layoff will affect your game. I'm expecting a much better Tampa team tonight. We will have to overshadow their intensity tonight if we have any hope of winning. Do what it takes fellas. Don't make me have to take out another loss on my girlfriend, she's still recovering from the bruises :lol

I was hoping that in the previous round Montreal would beat the Bolts, because at least then we could count on Johnny to do something if we were to play Les Habitants in the eastern finals. Oh well.

As for the game tonight, I agree that if the Flyers play the way the played period 1 of game 1, they should be alright. But they have to capitalize on their chances alot better than they did in game 1.

In game 1, the Lightning should have been staring at a 2-0 or 3-0 deficit after the 1st, but had to feel more confident than ever that it was scoreless going to the 2nd period. During the 2nd and especially into the 3rd, you could see they were getting their legs back from that long layoff.

Perhaps wishful thinking, but I'll say the Flyers come out banging every Bolt on the ice and take game 2 by a score of 3-1.

LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!

Demote LeCair to the fourth line, give his minutes to Radivojevic. John is most effective when he takes a pounding in front of the net, which he has been unwilling to do recently, probably because of his age. The rest of his game just does not make up for his unwillingness to take any punishment. At least with Radio in, we could see some strong forechecking and skating, even if he doesnt have LeClairs hands.

We need the first goal tonight.

We got the first in game 1, but having it (rightfully) uncounted kinda took the vigor out of us. If we get an early lead then hopefully the Bolts will begin to wilt.

Agreed. If the Bolts are behind for a while they will start to play "High Risk" hockey.

Which is good for the Flyers of course.

fun fact, we are 0-4 when I watch our road games on TV, outscored maybe 15+ to 4
but when I listen to the game on the radio, while on the road, Philly is 2-0, so here I am at my computer listening to the radio
