Vadim Krasnoslobodtsev?

This information appeared in Russian/Kazakh media, and it's not official, but it looks like the Bolts might be interested in Kazakh player Vadim Krasnoslobodtsev.
If you want an opinion from a KHL regular viewer, he is a good player and he could play a good third line role in the NHL. He's very big, he can take physical play, he can be a good presence in the corners and he has Russian technique.

We'll see what can happen.

I wonder who is interested considering we don't have a GM.

Could be Kurvers since he's kind of the acting GM. If the scouts like him, they may be rushing to get the inside track before someone else gets him. I think I'll just stick with Kras, and forget the rest...

Well Kurves was doing a lot of scouting when he was Tampa's assistant next to the hair. If the kid can make it in the NHL we probably did have our scout out their checking him out. We do need to solidfy the bottom lines as well, if he can provide some secondary scoring as well being solid defensively then I think hes worth giving a shot.

That is more of a stereotype than a technique, I don't think you can quantify skill like that

His elite prospect profile shows him having signed an extension (3years) 2 months ago to stay there. Any idea what sort of salary is attached?

Also, does the article mention anything about his willingness to play in minor leagues in North America if unable to initially make the jump right to the NHL?

Wonder if this is more replacing Smolenak who recently signed overseas. Steered toward Norfolk with longer odds of playing in Tampa.

Still, it's valid that Russian players are not inherently more skilled than anyone else. As the Soviet Union, they were able to exploit their own political and economic system, where they'd cheat, but get away with it, because it was state sponsored.

The founders of the Soviet hockey machine were influenced by Canadian Lloyd Percival writings in particular. It was to the loss of everyone else that they didn't listen to him earlier.

Canada also didn't even get serious about international competitions until 1984, which was partly at fault for allowing the Soviets to dominate the way they did.

What I think the OP is getting at is NHL teams don't generally bring over Europeans to fill bottom six type roles, unless they have top six upside. This player (who is clearly made up) is no different.

The bottom two lines were awful last year, that area needs improvement. No idea who this guy is or if he'd even help, but depth up front is something that needs to be improved.

4th liners all of them, I mean we can ice a great 4th line. But 3rd line is supposed to provide SOME scoring, and outside of limited flashes from Chewy there really wasnt anything.

Cast a Wide Net

Don't know much about this Russian. But the lower lines need some desperate re-tuning. But he may be worth the look. You have to think outside the box.

I hope that some day I might hear Don Cherry try to pronounce that name.

If the rumor is true, bring him over for a look. More the merrier for camp and it adds more competition. Maybe he turns out to be a good NHL player.

Pass.

I don't want to have to try and spell his name correctly hundreds of times per season. Szczechura's hard enough.

Vadim Krasnoslobodtsev won't even fit on Twitter.

Disagree, sign him so we get to hear Paul Porter attempt to say his name all season.
