The Pittsburgh Penguins "Talk About Our Merchandise" Thread

Hey guys,

Thought it might be interesting to have a thread where we all talk about the vast collections of Penguins memorabilia we have acquired over the years and still have...or had...etc.. Some of us I'm sure probably have acquired lot of stuff over the years and I thought it'd be neat to go around and share what Penguins goodies we all own. In this thread we can also discuss Penguins merchandise we really want or have always wanted...but sadly cannot afford or never got etc. I'm sure this could turn into quite an impressive thread and I figured it'd be a nice change of pace while we wait for game 4.

I'll go first...I have:

- A Crosby home RBK Premier jersey
- A Team Canada Mario jersey (that sadly now is too small )
- A Pittsburgh Penguins 2009 Stanley Cup Champions wall clock
- A Pittsburgh Penguins watch
- A Pittsburgh Penguins fitted hat.
- A Pittsburgh Penguins leather wallet
- A Pittsburgh Penguins 2009 Stanley Cup Champions commemorative wall flag
- A Pittsburgh Penguins 2009 Stanley Cup Champions mousepad
- A Crosby poster
- An old poster of Mario and Jags my uncle gave me when I was a kid.
- A Crosby "name and number" black Reebok tshirt
- A Crosby "name and number" St. Patrick's Day Reebok t-shirt
- A Crosby "name and number" Team Canada t-shirt (made by Nike)
- A Malkin "name and number" black Reebok tshirt
- A Malkin "name and number" St. Patrick's Day Reebok tshirt.
- A Malkin "name and number" Team Russia t-shirt (made by Nike)
- A "vintage" Ron Francis "name and number" tshirt
- A "vintage" Paul Coffey "name and number" tshirt
- A Hossa "name and number" Penguins shirt
- A "2009 Eastern Conference Champions" tshirt
- A Pittsburgh Penguins logo steel coffee travel mug
- A Pittsburgh Penguins logo coffee cup
- A sleeveless tshirt with the Penguins logo on it
- A Pittsburgh Penguins 2009 Stanley Cup Champions "roster" tshirt
- Another Pittsburgh Penguins 2009 Stanley Cup Champions shirt.
- Various Jagr rookies cards.

I had:

- Ironically my first hockey stick as a kid was a Mario Lemieux "autographed" (the autograph was obviously fake) stick with the Penguins logo on it.

And yesterday I just purchased:

- A framed 8x10 photo of Sid carrying the Canadian flag on the ice with his gold medal around his neck after the 2010 gold medal game.

- A framed 8x10 of Sid lifting the Cup.

Penguins goodies I hope to have some day:

- A Crosby 2005-06 Upper Deck "Young Guns" rookie card.
- A Mario Lemieux O-Pee-Chee rookie card
- A Lemieux 1992 throwback jersey with all the patches on it.
- A jersey that was signed by Sid or Mario or Geno in person.
- One of those aluminum Mellon Arena final game commemorative tickets

Well thats it for me...how about you guys?

I got a rock.

Err...
-pre-lockout black jersey circa 2004 - #29 Fleury (signed by Fleury, Talbot, & Recchi)
-pre-lockout white jersey circa 2003 (no names, but signed by almost everyone on that lovely 2003-04 team)
-pre-lockout black jersey circa 2002 - #1 Hedberg (signed by Hedberg, Lemieux, &...****ing Melichar)
-1968-72 CCM Vintage power blue circa 2003 (aka our alternate jersey in a non-EDGE cut)
-1977-78 Mitchell & Ness Vintage navy - #8 Schultz

Powder Blue jersey shirt - #71 Malkin
Baby Blue shirt with the original logo (fat Petey)
A powder blue Penguins hat

The rest of the stuff I've owned is long gone. I used to have some pucks but after moving so many times they've been lost for good (though I think my sister stole my Aleksey Morozov signed puck...I may be the only person that would legitimately upset).

And, though not technically Penguins...
-Rimouski Oceanic navy jersey circa 2004 - #87 Crosby

I haven't bought a jersey for going on six years now (Crosby was my last purchase, before he was Penguins property...that worked out nicely). My jersey want list hasn't really changed much in that time. Talbot & Orpik top the Penguins wants (Orpik Team USA jersey possibly); Ak Bars Kazan Морозов...
Once I started school it just became harder and harder to justify jersey prices though.

I have a vintage-looking hat, a 2009 Cup Champs t-shirt, and a 1992 Cup Champs t-shirt.

I don't have money.

I have an unofficial "Pittsburgh 2009 World Champions" T-shirt.

6 years of dead-end jobs followed by being a broke-ass student isn't conducive to collecting. When I was a kid, I had this really cool Pens T-shirt that looked like the team's black sweaters from the 1980s, as well as a Mario card and a Jagr card.

I have a 1993 Patrick Division Champs t-shirt that's so haggard the collar has long since fallen off and it's nearly translucent.

Sweet shirt... cursed, though.

I have a couple Pens shirts, ticket stubs and other random Pens-related stuff here and there. But I'm really not much of a jersey/memorabilia guy, to be honest.

I just got this hat, I love it. I am currently debating on getting a WBS 3rd jersey.

But I just have to find someone that can embroder numbers and letters on it that look authentic.

And decide whether I want Tangradi or Letestu on it.

Nice hat man.

I've watched a few Baby Penguins games online, but haven't followed them closely. Perhaps I should.

Here's my hat...it's by far the most comfortable hat I've ever worn.

I have two jerseys that I love, but for sentimental reasons: Milan Kraft and Martin Straka's aborted pigeon-era Pens official jerseys. One was a hand-me-down from a cousin, and the other was a gift from my dad and grandfather when I was much younger.

I still wear 'em with pride, but man, I don't think I could ever wear the Kraft one to a game, and even the Marty Straka one is kinda off. They're just weird reminders of the dark years, ya know?

The other jersey I've wanted to find for ***** and giggles the next time I'm in Slovakia is a Robert Dome HC Slovan Bratislava jersey.

I watch games when I can online, but mostly just follow stats of the players. At the start of the season I got to catch a game up in WBS with my friend Joel who is from there. It was an absolute blast.

Allowed me to complete seeing a game of the entire organization, since I have been to a couple of Wheeling Nailers game on random visits to my sisters on weekend.

Here's the Shrine

Various Game 6/7 memorablia from 2009 SCF
Day-after newspaper headlines from Detroit & hometown papers (Guerin played in the next town over from my old city as a kid)
a few Iceburgh plushes
Game-worn Mario jersey in the case
big ol' Let's Go Pens banner
Signed Sid, Malkin, and Mario 8x10s
team photos from each Cup win
Mario & Sid w/the cup 8x10

not part of the official shrine but part of the hockey stuff:
2008 SCF Game 5 puck signed by Geno & Sid
2009 Finals 10x16 program pullout
2008 & 2009 SCF shirts, mounted on wood frames (my girl is a Wings fan, so these were real cool for us to get)
Opening faceoff 2008 Finals 8x10 and an 8x10 of us at one of the games that year

Not in the pic but I've also got a home Sid jersey signed by Geno, a few hats, a logo shirt from the HHOF, a long-sleeve artistic shirt from the Mellon, a Let's Go Pens white-out shirt from 2009 SCF Game 6, various stuff like that.

I haven't got anything left over from childhood, though I was a fan way back when I started watching/playing in '89. Hats, jackets, tons of cards (sold 'em all, thousands easily, when I stopped collecting). The only thing I wish I'd kept were a signed Mario card and an 11x14 photo of an opening faceoff at the Mellon with "Penguins welcome (my name)" that my mother got for me. Not like I couldn't replicate that easily enough, but the original would've been great to have. No clue whatever happened to that thing.

-I had a home Lemieux pigeon jersey that I used to wear to middle school dances about 12 years ago.

-Had a "Lookout Loretta" Mike Lange t-shirt when I was real young

-Pre-Reebok Edge away Fleury jersey.

-Winter Classic Letang

-Away Talbot jersey

-Russian Malkin jersey

-Malkin/Crosby longsleeve t's

-mugs and cups from when I was younger that I still use

-the only hockey stick I ever owned was a Mario Lemieux street hockey stick

-various other nick-nacks

I've just recently been able to afford jerseys and such, so I'll be adding to that collection at least once or twice a year for awhile. I'm hoping to get a home Staal jersey and I'll most definitely get whatever our WC jersey is next year.

Oh, I do. I just feel weird because every time I think about Straka, I always remember the freak accidents he'd have. Weight machine, Hedburg breaking his orbital bone his first game back...

Great guy, great player, but man, worst luck ever and right after he left was the dark ages.

Speaking of players whose jersey's we'd proudly rock-- I always wanted a Jiri Hrdina jersey. Homeboy was super underrated as a defensive forward.

Thanks! I got the 4" WC keychain at the Mellon, the 8" current home jersey on ebay, and I've also got a 12" pigeon home/white that I picked up on ebay too. That's the place to look really, there's one lady who I got both from that picks them up at a thrift shops and garage sales.

They used to sell bigger ones at the Mellon but they were sold out when I finally got to go. I saw some little kid with one about 18" sitting behind me at Game 7 and I was so freakin' jealous. Soon as I see one for sale, it's mine. I hope they start selling them again at the Mellon or on NHL.com.

That's because it was the era of firewagon hockey, and nobody talked about "defensive forwards." But yeah, that would be awesome.

There are basically 4 jersies I want: Lemieux, Kasparaitis, Orpik and Malkin. I figure that would be a good start considering that right now I don't own any.

This thread is just making me jealous!!
It's difficult to purchase stuff from Europe and it's more expansive. Being a student doesn't help.
I got a Crosby home jersey and a Malkin away, knock off version bought on ebay.
Recently got a Stanley Cup champions cup and a keyring!!

Hoping to get a official jersey someday, it's gonna take a while.

Powder blue blank named jersey. Still waiting for that free agent superstar winger to put on the back. *sarcasm*

White pens fitted hat.

Framed 8 by 10 of Sid with the cup.

And the prize possession of a Mario autographed stick. (not game used)

Straka was one of my favorite Penguins for a long time.

Like I said... I'm not a jersey sort of guy but I'd rock a German Titov sweater if one were given to me.

Or maybe Rene Corbet?

As a collector of game worn jerseys (just added a Henrik Sedin to my collection) I have to ask how did you get your Mario and how much?
