both centers have had to take on a more defensive role in light of who we've been up against. Had we played boston or buffalo, they would have been able to apply themselves more offensively.

Meh it would not surprise me after losing Komisarek.

I blame Bob, both should have been signed long term for 3-4M in 2008.

Yeah sure. sign them long term after their crappy 2008 season.

I would have fired my agent right there if I was Plek

Losing Komisarek was a good thing, he hasn't been the same since Lucic beat the **** out of him and he's been having shoulder problems ever since.

Pleks will not resign with MTL, and of course we will see another Gomez type of player next year!

Plekanec WILL resign with the Habs. I'm ready to bet my long john on that.

Plekanec will sign here, he will sign a multi year 4-4.5 contract. He does not want to go anywhere else.

I don't see him going anywhere. But to tell you the truth I wouldn't lose any sleep if would we lose Plek(even if I like him) and can replace him. The workforce of our offense right now are Cammy, Gio and Gomy. Even if Plek had a good season, these three lead the team. We only should graft other players than can compliment them well, wether it's young players or getting some by trade.

Pleks did well against Washington just like he did in the regular season because their defensive system suits his style. The Pens are harder for him with guys like Orpik. That's why Gomez has flourished here and Pleks showed up more in the Caps series.

If it doesn't look like he'll sign, go after Matthew Lombardi. A little bigger, fast skater, good playmaker- 6 points in 7 playoff games this year. He'd probably be a million or 2 cheaper.

The Habs are in round 2 of the play offs, tied 2-2 in that series. Things are going too well for the scum bags over at RDS so they stir up the pot. Last week the Price thing, now Pleks....

Oh and btw....If Pleks wants more than 4.5 million I'd let him walk.

1. Let pleks walk
2. Trade one of the goalies
3. Get rid of both Kos brothers
4. Offer a retarded deal to Marleau.

Same size, same weight. Lombardi plays bigger but Plek comes often out of the corner with the puck.
Lombardi is older and had one season of 67 points (with Iginla) and then 53 points last season.
And Plekanec in PK >> Lombardi PK.

Seems to me Plek >> Lombardi.

Plus Plek is coming from our system.
I would like us to keep our talented players.
My model of team is the Wings.
I didn't say it was option A. If Pleks won't sign or is too expensive, there is a comparable guy out there with ties to Montreal and probably a cheaper price tag.

You've got to wonder if people watch hockey sometimes.

The guy is probably the biggest reason why Crosby was so invisible so far in this series, yet, people only are piping Gorges, Gill and Halak up.

Plekanec is playing more of a shutdown center role in this series, it doesn't change the fact he's contributing big time to the success of his team right now.

People should be piping Gorges, Gill and Halak up, they have been great in the playoffs.

They might, it doesn't take anything away from Plekanec, who has been wonderful so far against Crosby. You rarely see Crosby get so many breaks.

A speculative report came out the other day that he will be a target of the Rangers this offseason. Most Blueshirt fans seem worried that we will overpay him, though. The consensus seems to be, "let someone else do it."

yes I agree with some of you.
I like Pleks, I like him a ton at 2.5mil. I still might like him at 4, less at 4.5 and not at all at 5+mil per. The 5+ you have to weigh him against what else I can buy for 5+mil. Will another 5+mil center offer me as much points but be 6.3+220 with an attitude or an anger management problem? that might create MORE space for his wingers.

Pleks cannot be worth more than 4.5, 4.75 at the absolute most.

69,39,70 points in his last three seasons. He has work ethic but is not talented worth 5million IMO.

If he makes it to July 1st,worth or not worth some team will probably offer him that much if not more.Personally I would offer him a long term contract at 4.5 per year but I'm not sure he would accept it,more then that go after another player via trade
