Mod Edit: Simon Gagne will play in Game 4 (post #30)

If there are no issues when he has his MRI tomorrow morning, chances are “pretty good,” a source told CSNPhilly.com, that Gagne will be in the lineup for Game 4.

“It’s good to be back and skating again,” Gagne said. “It’s only the first time on the ice. I still have to see the doctor and we’ll go from there. It’s one step closer to playing a game.”

What’s to lose? It’s an elimination game for the Flyers.

Perhaps Gagne looked at Jordan Staal out in Pittsburgh for inspiration. Staal was ready to play five days after tendon surgery.

“When I started walking on it, it felt really good,” Gagne said. “I removed the [walking] boot and started walking pretty good on it. The pain has gotten better and better and that’s why we decided to put the skate on and see if it fit.

“It’s a process. Actually, I’m surprised to go from crutches to walking in a couple days and go skating afterward. I’m a little bit surprised at the way I felt …”

i hope the flyers start wearing those foot guards the canadiens have.

i'd love to see gagne back, but i wouldn't want him to aggravate an injury in a loss. that would be bad. real bad.

those foot guards are real simple. Plastic is vaccuformed around the boot of the skate. they are in two pieces and very light. held on by wrapping tape around to hold them on. other players recovering from foot fractures have been using them thru out the year with great success.

So we just took out one of their best forwards and another of their crappy defensemen, and are getting back one of our best forwards.

History will be made.

Every little bit helps. I am glad he'll be back, at the very least I hope we get a win tomorrow so as not to get swept. Welcome back Simon!

I'm thinking 2 wins and heading home would get the juices flowing.

I hope he's really good to go and not rushing things which could lead to more and worse problems down the line.

Flyers have to win this game (obviously).

Bruins have to win the next game. Lose that and this series will quickly spin out of control for them. Injuries are piling up.

Flyers don't lose Game 6 at home and what a nut-punch it'll be for the Bruins if they find themselves in a Game 7 in this series.

It's not over!

Just think about how different this season would have been if the boys had been wearing them all year. It positively kills me.
