I'll be able to catch the first period for sure and maybe the second as well now. I'm pretty happy about that. Normally I'd root for the team hosting a big event game like this but with the USA involved, I just hope it's a great game with the USA coming out on top in the end.

My prediction:

USA 4 (Oshie, Moss, Johnson PP, Yandle EN)
Germany 2 (Goc PP, Gogulla)

Note: Sorry about failing you on the USA lines Systemfel. The coverage sucks so far for the team

Send a message via MSN to Belak Attack
Holzer on one...Hanson on another...Not sure who to root for. Probably the US, since I really like Hanson, and Okposo.

Apparently the ice was horrible. Sven Felski complained after the final practice that the condition of the ice was very bad, but he hopes and believes that it will be much better for the game tonight.

watch out for Dennis Endras. He's had BIG POs in Germany and is on a hot streak.

He is my biggest hope for Germany.

M. Goc with a Goal
1 against Endras
Holzer with a Goal PP

Germany 2
USA 1

and for the OP. The Stadium is called

Veltins Arena

I haven't found a thread for this, and I didn't want to open one myself, but I just got a good laugh out of reading the Power Ranking on IIHF.com. I love those.

http://www.iihf.com/channels10/iihf-...r-ranking.html

As for the game tonight i guess USA will win this one 3-0, despite Endras standing on his head.

I think it's sold out. They expect 100'000 people in or around the arena. 650 million people will see it on tv around the world.
I really get a boit excited about this game. Even without my team (Switzerland).

Is it true that the starting goalie for the US will be Ben Bishop? Or is YLE just screwing me.

Hope Kreider gets some icetime. I know he probably won't get a lot is more along for the ride than anything, but it'd be interesting to see how he does against older competition

650 million people will watch it? I find that really hard to believe. Maybe the game will be available for 650 million people but I can't imagine that many tuning in to watch it.

Im eager to get these games going. Im hoping the German fans turn up the volume in there. That's what is great about those big soccer stadiums, they fit plenty of people to make plenty of noise!

I don't know excactly, but I thought 650 million people will at least see someting of the game. They will even show it on the swiss channels! And that means something

Doing math in my head, all nations in the tournament together don't have a lot more than 650 million in population and you expect them all to watch it or what? Or do you mean that 650mill will be able to see it? Because that sounds more logical

The U.S. is going to have to get some secondary scoring apart from the "big" line (said in jest) to do anything in this tourney. I'd also like to see guys like Johnson, Yandle, and Greene push the envelope a bit. I'll go 3-2 U.S. in this one.

I really don't see my German team score 2 goals, but I hope I'm wrong.
