Good shift by Kreider. Nice to see for him.

Yeah, he's competent. Given the Americans options (since Miller, Thomas, Quick, and DiPietro (LOL)) - I'm assuming Esche and Grahame were the others I'm happier with Clemmer. Still don't trust him

Germany is doing a good job blocking shots.

We need a PP goal here to open it up a bit.

It would have been nice to see Quick; I think this would have been a good event for him, but it's understandable that he didn't want to go.

I'm surprised Endras is holding up, I wasn't sure what to expect from him.

Germany almost scored shorthanded to end the period. Overall, i'm happy it's still 0-0.

It looks narrow. Maybe not NHL size but perhaps 27-28 meters.

He has looked good...certainly not out of place, though he hasn't gotten a ton of shifts. Created some chances with his line.

I love the Hungarian language. It's like some strange mix between Czech and Finnish, haha.

Quick is actually hurt. After the Kings lost game 6, it came out that he was playing with a shoulder injury, so he couldn't have gone even if he had wanted to. Even if he was healthy, with a new baby, I'm not sure he would have, as you mention. It would have been nice to see him play for the US after warming the stands/bench in the Olympics.

I'm pretty sure the ice's length isn't international sized. It still looks bigger than NHL ice though.

endras is the best goalie in germany, calm under pressure and rarely makes any mistakes. pretty reliable guy and it was a good choice to start him today.

i think the zones are odd. the neutral zone looks to be smaller than usual compared to both end zones.

Given all the guys that either declined (Miller, Anderson, Quick, Esche, Conklin), injured (DiPietro) or guys that aren't available (Thomas, Howard), Clemmensen is actually a pretty good coup for this team. I'm not saying I'd bet good money on him putting together a great tournament but he's surely capable of it. The last time we won a medal in this tournament was on a team where Ty Conklin was our goaltender and he played extremely well. USA goaltending has made good progress though. It wouldn't have been too long ago where Clemmensen would have been in our Top 3-5 options.

I experienced quite the opposite during the 1st period- 70 000 people and literary no support for Germans that I could hear of.

OT, but better is to call it football... that "american football" is played only in USA, but rest of the world knows that football is the thing they call "soccer"

Carter had a very good period.

Yeah I'm not terribly upset with Clemmensen, I just don't think he's all that great. That said, I definitely think he can put in a solid tournament.
