Late Player Additions and Turnaround Time

Two questions for the more knowledgeable:

1. What is the standard turnaround time for a player who has been chosen to a WC team after the WC games have started?

Eg. A player's NHL team is eliminated on Monday night (start time 7:00 Eastern US), could he play the next night by 5pm German time? He needs to get on a plane, recover, sleep, and adjust to the 7 hour (or whatever) time difference. Can players make it for the next day, or would a coach usually sit them for a game?

2. What is the latest a player can be added to a WC team? How many forwards/D/goalies can still be added?

Thanks in advance guys.

I'm pretty sure guys have played within a day or two of being eliminated from the playoffs. So in your scenario, the player's team would lose on Monday, and he could be playing by Wednesday, Thursday at the latest.

As for question 2, the IIHF has the answer for that:

Quote:
The remaining players [they need to list 15 skaters and 2 goalies before the tournament] up to the allowed maximum of 20 + 3 must be submitted for players' control two hours before any of the following championship games.
Then:
Quote:
From the start of the Qualification Round and Relegation Round (and until two hours before any of the following games), the teams are entitled to add two additional players (skaters or goalkeepers) to their roster
So to answer it in simple terms:

Before the tournament, each team has to have at least 15 skaters, 2 goalies. Max is 20 + 3.

After it starts, they can add another 2 players, either skaters or goalies, meaning a max of 25 players of any position.

Thanks kaiser m.

I'd still like more input about question #1 from anyone that has info.

The extra 2 can only be added after the 1st round is completed.
