5/11 Discussion - Best Goaltender in Wild History

Whether the beneficiary of the Lemaire system or solid scouting, one of the staples of the Wild throughout their ten year history has been solid goaltending. From Manny Fernandez to Niklas Backstrom it seems as if Minnesota has continually had a solid goalie between the pipes despite icing a subpar team.

So today's question is "who has been the best goalie in Wild history?"

Backstrom hands down, because he completely outplayed every other goalie under Lemaire's system.

Backstrom, great goalie that should have a good year next year.

I'll vote for Roli ... Backstrom needs to take us deep into the playoffs before I'll vot for him.

I'm a bit more partial to Roloson as well. Personally, Backstrom is going to have to show me a lot more next season than what he put out there this year.

I think the most talented has been Manny. But he was a head case and so inconsistent.

As far as playing the best, I'd go with Backstrom.

We've had some great goalies, but McLennan? That guy was horrible.

He's no Derek Gustafson.

The top 3 look about right. Backs has probably been the best, mainly because he is the first to have undisputed #1 status and deliver the goods; that being said I voted for Roloson.

We would have never gotten into the playoffs in 2007 and likely 2008 if it weren't for Backstrom. And remember, Manny outplayed Roli in 2005-06. Although Roli in 2003 playoffs was FANTASTIC. The kicker is, Backstrom didn't take stretches off, which was the problem with the other two.
