Sutter...is the guy punch drunk?

I was watching the interview at the end of the game with Sutter and I just have a question. Is this guy punch drunk? Is it just me or does he seem pretty dopey, or like he's smoked one too many?

not to put down his hockey intelligence....

He really looks like one of the farmers who lives near me, I'm pretty sure I could see myself running into him around where I live.

He knows his hockey though.

Darryl Sutter suffers from partial paralysis on one side of his face as a result of nerve damage which happened when he was injured whilst a Chicago Blackhawk player. Parts of his cheek, eye socket and nose had to be rebuilt.

It's subtle, but it does affect his speech.

I do not know for sure, but to me, his voice (just like Dr. Kisssinger, former US Foreign Secretary) has power. It is like intimidation, which may inflences players. May be.

Sutter

Nice man...
but some guys just do NOT like being on TV or the radio.
The number one fear on the planet is Public Speaking. He's clearly
doesn't enjoy the spotlight. He leaves that to his players and there's nothing wrong with that.

My girlfriend calls Sutter "The Birdman". She also calls MacT "The Goat".

It's kind of funny.

Fell on his head from a raised shovel on his tractor. He was repairing some troughs I believe.

To me MacT always looked like Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic Four, you know the stretchy dude with the grey sideburns. Must be all those comic books I collected as a kid...

I am pretty sure he is the Sutter that got into a bad farming accident a few years back. I remember going to an Oilers/Hawks game and Sutter was in the stands waiting for his brother after the game - he looked like death and was recovering from the accident. Bad head injuries - that coupled with the slapper he caught in the chops in his Blackhawk days have left him pretty battered up.
