I think the Swiss will take this one. Simply their team and goaltending is better.
3-1.

EDIT: I think that Jass will play with J Redlihs in the defence (4th line)

I hope Switzerland has learned his loss from 30 april 2009.
Solving Edgars Masalskis, by driving to the net causing traffics, shooting high and Switzerland should have no problem of destroying Latvia...
Our new coach should also make the difference as he know how to prepare his players when it really count.

Masalskis is better then Gerber right now. It's the first reason i see Latvia with a win tonight. The second is this swiss team is not far to be Switzerland B. Only one defenseman of the 8 swiss defensemen in Vancouver is in Germany for example.

Switzerland is dominating but only manages to score once. The line with Ambül, Brunner and Monnet is very strong.
Latvia with one or two good scoring possibilities.

Agreed, but nonetheless Latvia is playing way below its potential. I expect a different game after the 1st intermission.
Jenni and Brunner -

Except for the score (which of course is what counts, I know), Latvia is actually having a much better game than last year. This time we are just actually scoring once in a while... ;-)

Switzerland isn't doing too bad ! I like Brunner, Ambuhl and ... .
Nino is giving it all.
2-0
and
25shots to 10
GoSwitzerlandGo
The goalie is keeping Latvia in the game. without this good goalie ... could be 3 or 4-0 ... wouldn't be a scandal !

Still a long time to go. The Monnet/Ambühl line is pretty much the only offensive line that we have in this game, the others have to step it up. Especially Lemm has to improve a lot and is not having a good game so far (no lack of effort though).
Defense looks good, but like I said in the other thread, I would prefer Geering instead of Helbling. Helbling isn't playing well enough in this game neither IMO.
But anyway, I don't want to sound too negative, it's a good game and I'm enjoying our plays.

This game sucks in general. Both goals were ridiculous for a game of this importance..
Do you really consider the Swiss team performance great today? Defence should be much better, and on the offensive side I see nothing much beyond the Ambuhl line. No chance with Canada (not talking about Latvia khe khem..)

This could be a dumb question.
How come no Roman Wick for the Swiss?
