Return where, to the KHL, yes. Both him and his brother have contracts through the 10/11 season, return to the NHL, not a chance.

Yeah, he's not coming back to the NHL. He's done here, can't keep up anymore and is being paid better money to play in his home country. Why wouldn't he stay there?

Yes, I meant returning to KHL play. My apologies for not clarifying that.

So he's definitely commited to coming back for next season? Just because he's under contract doesn't necessarily guarantee a player's return if they chose to retire.

As of right now he will be back, until we hear him say "Im done playing hockey" he will be back next season. After the up-coming season though will most likely be his final.

Yes, he said he'd play next season. I don't have a link but he did say that.

Fedorov is my favorite all time player. He usually says he is done with hockey at least once a season so its tough to say if he plays another season. He always wanted to play with his brother but his brother never could crack the NHL lineup, now that he has had a season with his brother he could be thinking of retirement quite heavily.

Its too bad he left the NHL, IMO he was one of the CAPs better playoff performers. The CAPs lost a lot when Fedorov and Kozlov left IMO. I hope Sergei gets into the HHOF and that the KHL hasn't killed his chances.

Good post. Fedorov and Kozlov did very well in the playoffs last season. That's what the capitals missed this year- finesse and skill players. They try to play a puck moving style of play with too many grinders like gordon, steckel, Bradley, Walker.

One more season as a player, and after-coaching career... To my mind- in National Team.
