is merchandise a good profit source? maybe the blues should ditch their roller hockey jerseys and come out with something a LOT more classic and classy. Then all the fans, including me would be forced to update the wardrobe. BTW that third jersey is as cookie cutter (penguins, wild, panthers, everyone) as the our 1st and 2nd jerseys.

How about any of these aside from the ones Walt has on?

The Mega Millions drawing is for $244 million tonight...all you aspiring franchise owners ought to give it a shot. How did the old tagline go..."you can't win if you don't play"?

I'll throw in $50 million of my winnings (you know, assuming I win the lottery and all) just to be a silent partner and get to sit in the owner's box every game.

If I have to use my own money to bid on the same position within the organization...I'll start the bidding at $200.

If the Peoria GM position also includes a seat at the draft table and input into the Entry Draft, count me in for however much it takes.

Ok. I will pay $500 to be the Scottrade Manager (are we talking about the arena or the finance company?). Also, I'm going to raise the bid to be Louie to $2500. That puts me in for a grand total of $3000. Good thing I get my profit sharing check soon.

EDIT: OOOOH!!! And $5000 to be the zamboni driver, and I will destroy anyone that outbids me. Of course... now I have to find a way to get the extra money.

A fan owned franchise would have worked for you guys if you could have done it when the team was economically on top.

St Louis had the highest ticket prices in the NHL in the 90s I went to a game and was shocked it was actually more expensive then the new Boston Garden when it opened which was overpriced itself.

No Rams should help next year hopefully you get lucky in the lottery and have a prospect to market. Sadly I think your current roster is a little too injury prone to ever dominate or contend but I could be wrong on that. Shattenkirk and Stewart was a good move which will look better with a couple more pieces.

Arent the Cardinals slipping in attendance anyways? If they arent packing the new Busch Stadium anymore the box office expectations for the Blues should be muted.

Who's injury prone ? Perron's and Oshie's were flukes. Carlo is the only guy I can think of who is injury prone.

Backes - no
Stewart - no
Berglund - no
Oshie - no
Perron - no
Petro - no
Polak - no
Andy Mac- not really
Shatty - no
Cole - possible concussion issues, but no other problems
Carlo - yes
Steen - no

The Cardinals attendance has been lower so far this season, but that's a problem for most stadiums, including Wrigley Field which used to always sell out. I think that's more of an MLB problem than a Cardinals problem solely. Attendance should go up once kids are out of school.

Blues attendance may or may not be affected. I think the economy is a big part of it. Attendance was fine this year, but the new owners can't count on that if the team keeps losing. The fans are great, but they don't want to become disenfranchised again.

Stillman pushing ahead with plans to buy Blues

http://www.stltoday.com/sports/hocke...fd9c11f1b.html

Quote:
It's unknown if Stillman's group has made a second offer, or whether it will, but a source with knowledge of the situation said that the group remains intact and interested in owning the team.
Quote:
DeWitt III, son of Cardinals chairman and CEO Bill DeWitt Jr., has been team president since 2008. DeWitt would continue to focus on the Cardinals and would not be involved in the day-to-day operations of the Blues, which is what he said in an interview with Fox Sports Midwest last month.

I've got $25 to be the guy that flies the blimp that drops coupons during intermission, and another $50 to be the guy that hands the ref his headset so he can talk to Toronto.

I couldn't figure out how they reconcile that headline with the fact that there is actually no news since the initial low-ball offer months ago. How is that "pushing ahead"?
