Because we have Bengt-Ake Gustafsson coaching. Thats why.

I understand the hate now. There isn't any sense to be made from Hedman over Karlsson on the powerplay...like Ive said before Karlsson is basically the biggest piece that turned Ottawa's embarassing PP into one of the best in the league in the last 20 games and through the 1st round of the playoffs.

But this is just Swedish hockey for you. Nothing more than necessary.

How did Markstrom do? Was either of France goals something he should have stopped?

I'm sure he'd like one more try on their second goal. But in fairness, it was a wicked shot. I thought he did ok, a couple of rebounds but nothing serious.

As for rest of the game, a typical Sweden vs a lower rated team WC-game. Omark pick of the bunch for me. Some noice from the usual suspect about Hedman, and sure, not the perfect game by any means. Blended performance I'd say, with a little luck he could've scored a couple. Weinhandl and Mårtensson disappointing, Bäckman was our worst defenseman yesterday. Decent first game from Nylander. Bring on the Czechs! (gulp).

No, not really. First one was after a bad clearing attempt by Mårtensson who hit Bäckman in the neck, puck dropped right down to a french player who was all alone with Markström and put it top shelf. Second goal was just an insane shot, one in a million.

Wait, is this the same coach that coached in the olympics? because if it is, I can see why he keeps giving Hedman more minutes and less time for Karlsson, he's just ****ing stupid.

Yes, we always have a contracted coach for a period of time, as most(all?) European countries do. His match coaching is absurd not to say non-existant. A pee wee league coach would do better.
