Solid picks though, imo, especially considering it's round 5.

Yeah I agree, I see alot of potential in the players selected in rounds 4-5.

I mean even if I only started drafting in the 3rd round I think I got some solid talent.

with the 141st pick in the 2010 nhl entry draft, the Carolina Hurricanes are proud to select from the Rimouski Oceanic, defensemen Etienne Boutet

Boutet has good size and good mobility to one day be a solid nhler. he's a stay at home physical defensemen but in the 2nd half of the season was more confident with the puck and try more thing offensively. great character kid, well like by his teammate. Took his game to another level in the playoff and was really impressive in the Drumondville series againts the Didomenico-Couturier-Dumont line. a great open ice hitter too. One of the most underated prospects coming from the Q in this year draft.

edit: Le depisteur (colorado) has been notified for his next selection

Oh, I don't disagree, especially since I'm also guilty of it It's just a bit funny to see such a run on these.

Next GM has been messaged.
Dvu and Avtsin reunited!

With the 142st pick in the 2010 Nhl entry draft, the Colorado Avalanche is proud to select from USNTDP's Under-18, right winger Bryan Rust.

Rust doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He has good cruising speed with the puck, makes hard, crisp passes and he's a confident stickhandler who can execute some nice lateral stickhandling moves and undress opposing defensemen. We are very surprised to see him still available because he had 2 strong international performances this winter (Six Nations Tournament and U18). A solid all-around hockey player.

Haha, yeah, if I'm gonna start before noon, that's a good way to go!

edit: Just to put this out there, as I obviously won't be around tonight, if this round finishes today, and any kind of vote gets started about adding round 6 or not, I vote for "add".

Well, it's been about 10 hours and Pittsburgh still hasn't made their selection. We'll give it until about 7pm and then we'll vote.

I'm guessing Pittsburgh would be a little busy right now.

With the 143rd pick, the Pittsburgh Penguins select from Reaktor Nizhnekamsk of the Russian MHL, Winger Yaroslav Alshevsky.

I couldn't found scouting reports, anyway...

He is 5'11 but really need to bulk up, he scored 74 pts (29+45) in the MHL, 3rd in the league and scored 1+1 in one game in the KHL.

With the 144th pick, the Detroit Red Wings are proud to select, from the Acadie Bathurst Titans of the QMJHL, defenseman Jérémie Blain.

''Jérémie is a very interesting prospect. He had a breakout season this year and we expect his play to keep rising as he gains experience with the Titan. At 18 years old, Blain already boasts impressive size at 6'2 and 190 pounds. He has very good offensive instincts and isn't scared to mix it up when the going gets rough. He still has a long way to go, but we believe that he will contribute in a Red Wings jersey in the future.''

EDIT: Who's picking for Toronto? They have the next pick but there's no username next to the team in the first post. Let me know so I can PM him.

And I vote yes for the 6th and 7th rounds!

Since its NewJersey's pick I think I should pick for them.
With the 145th pick the Toronto Maple Leafs select
from the Lewiston Maineiacs of the LMJHQ Michael Chaput
Chaput looks like he can get us laid when we go to Montreal and that's all we care about cause we always lose to the Habs cause we're the Leafs and we suck.

With the 146th pick, the Vancouver Canucks are proud to select, from the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL, defenseman Konrad Abeltshauser.

"We see some potential in Konrad, as he demonstrates good puck-moving skills to go with his big 6'5 frame, not to mention that he is a late 92', making him one of the youngest players in his draft class. He was one of the few bright spots in a otherwise underachieving Halifax squad, so we definitely hope he can carry on to the next season."

next GM was pm'd.

Hey guys,

I'm definitely cool with adding rounds 6 and 7, but we would need to make sure that everyone is on the same page. If some were only expecting it to be 5 rounds, I cant see every single member wanting to do 2 more. We would have to figure out who is done, and who wants to continue.

i wouldn't mind seeing this draft go the distance. it's just gonna take a fair more bit of research.
