Cervenka looked very dangerous against the swedes in the WC today

So a guy who was on pace for almost 50 points in an injury plagued season, a plus player on the second worst team, and 50% on the draws is not worth $2.9 million? If his name was not Mikhail Grabovski, people would never say he is not worth his contract.

Hey, let's play the cherry picking game. You want to cherry pick? I can point out far more players with worse contracts and stats than him. Blinders indeed. He is fairly paid for his production. $3 million gets you 50 points, so $2.9 million getting you 48 points is a fair contract. Does not mean I like him - actually, far from it. But spewing **** without being able to back it (without referring to contracts that are outright steals) does zero to prove your point, or do anything to improve your credibility.

Shame on me. Holy, you're right, I did sound like a bonified hater there when I looked back at the comment I was posting against. I don't hate the leafs, don't love em', but more so don't like the contract. My original post and all posts after were more related to Steve Ott, who I feel earns the 2.9 more so than Grabo for many reasons.

-Ott (2.9mil)

Grabo also has a way higher PPG than Ott as well. I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say?
Yes to both.

I thought he was ok, But i just watched the 1st and 2nd periods.

He seemed to force to many plays, I guess that comes with playing with Jagr. He needs the bulk up and add a few LBS aswell.

The one guy guy who has caught my eye in the WC is Juha-Matti Aaltonen on Finland. Good size, fast, skilled and from what i've seen he plays well without the puck.

OK - that explanation works for me. Ott is a good player, and in the right situation (like the one he is currently in), he's a valuable asset. With the Stars, he's not needed to be a top-6 type contributor, so anything he contributes is gravy. The Leafs really do lack a hard-nosed superpest type like Ott who can play almost anywhere in the lineup and do a little bit of everything, plus get under the opponents skin at the same time - they haven't had one since the pre-lockout version of Tucker.
