This one is a tough one to call. as I see it both teams have underperformed and neither seems to be able to get the puck in the net.. I think Vehanen will be the difference.. 3-1 finland with an empty netter

Wow, I'm so afraid of this game. Let's hope the Danes will win the Germany game this afternoon, so that we have not the same pressure than USA.
Still, I say the Finns win it 3-1. Goals from Aaltonen, Jokinen, Nummelin and a great game from Vehanen.

As long as that happens in regulation I'll be happy.

Good news. But still Lehterä is only on the 4th line

Great decision to put Lehterä to replace Hahl. With his excellent defenceplay + speed & agility in there, US simply cant score. A perfect role for him. Too bad he doesn't have great playmaking skills like Santala.

Seems like both teams are offensively challenged. Should be a close game, better goalie wins it IMO. Right now I'd put my money on Vehanen.

Wow, that lineup is smokin'! I think many AHL teams could beat that squad.

Well Clemenssen surely drops more pucks infront of him out of the two so our guys need to seriously drive to the net. I trust Vehanen enough to predict a 2-1 win in regulation for Finland, maybe 3-1 with an empty netter.

I hope Jalonen isn't gonna put a tactic like in the last game: score one and defend it 'till the end

Lehterä should atleast play on the 3rd line instead of Santala. Jalonen is a joke.

Hopefully you are right with your prediction concerning the result but honestly if the Finns are not able to win against USA they don't deserve the qualification round.
And it looks as they are forced to win to reach the qualification round because Germany is leading against Denmark 3-1.

I root for you Team USA. Hope you can win the Game. This would give the Germans 5 Pts in the qualification round... come on USA.

So, no help from Denmark. We're screwed, guys.
Finland has HUGE pressure on them tonight. No matter how much they call for a "relaxed game", it's utter dung. And they can't handle it.
There's a lot less pressure on USA. Majority of Americans have no idea there's this kind of tournament on, and in case they do, from their point of view it's played with a bunch of leftovers out of the playoffs.
The US players play for minor personal honor. The Finns play for life and death. And we've never managed to shine in a situation like that. Standard QF sudden-death game is nothing compared to this.
I do wish I'm wrong, naturally... but then again, I also used to wish for a pony.

So what are the qualification/relegation possibilities based on the outcome of this game?

Winner goes on, loser relegates. It's as simple as that.
