I liked Alexander the Great's board on Markov. Nobody checks like a Lady Byng winner!

Best goal: Roenick game 6 OT

I have to agree if we were talking about best cheap shot of the playoffs. We're not so I'll pretty much go w/any of Primeau's hits

I agree on that one! That was the hit of the playoff season! Kapanen had no idea what train hit him... :lol

That looked like an elbow to me, but then I've only seen two clips so there might be another angle that suggests otherwise. But hot dang, that boy got creamed. I'm surprised he didn't have a concussion(oops, I meant "upper body injury").

The smilies don't help convey your message as much as I think you think they do.

how much do you cringe when seeing that clip?
not sure how we're defining 'best', but I think this hit had the most visual impact on me. Kapanen rules.

The guy went horizontal. That was the best hit of the DECADE, let alone playoffs.

Being a Flyers fan, I'd have to say (in retrospect, of course) that the best hit of the decade was Stevens on Lindros back in the 2000 Eastern Conference finals. It finally got him out of Philly...

Or the Stevens hit in the 1995 SCF's on Detroit's Kozlov... Those two hits were bone crushing hits just like Tucker's on Kapanen...

homer vote: Bertuzzi on Chelios in 02. Chelios went sideways on that one.

I thought it was clean by playoff standards, maybe a charge. Kapanan really left himself open to getting jarred, hence the severity.

Definitely the best hit I've seen this season.

If it wasn't a cheap headshot and attempt to injure a guy, I'd go with this. So I'm not really sure what you mean by "best" hit... you didn't define if it has to be clean or not.

That was not the best hit. That was the dirtiest hit. Horrible jump and elbow to the face. How can ANYONE call that a great hit? Tucker should have been suspended for that.

It's actually quite alarming, that people are calling such cheapshots a great hit. I guess someone has to die before people will start to realize what is the difference in clean hits and attempts to injure, and how they should react to those.

Clean hits rule, even if the target was injured. Leaving your feet and putting your hands up is not clean. And fans who dont have the guts to call it what it is are the main reason we see so many injuries. Players are there to entertain and perform, if the crowd cheers after such attrocities, naturally they will continue doing it.

If that Tucker hit qualifies then my choice is Hatcher on Lombardi.

Antropov on Roenick in game 5. You could see that Roenick had pain in his neck for the rest of the game

Well yeah, considering it was a cross-check to Roenick's neck...

If you're going to attempt to school people on morals, perhaps you should stick to facts instead of telling fairytales.

Flyer fans . If it wasn't their guy delivering the hit, they scream for bloody murder.

I am not a flyers fan. I have no favourite team in the NHL, but I watch it closely (3 to 5 games a week) And I am only relying on facts. I have seen the hit over and over again. There are still photos of the hit where you can clearly see where the elbow is.

It was a dirty hit, that is a fact supported by videotape and still photos.

Morons .If they could only go back to wrestling.

That's funny, because I've seen the same hit, and I've seen the still photos, and he never elbowed him. His hands were indeed up- OVER Kapannen's head. Kapanen's concussion (and you'd be fooling yourself if you don't think he's honouring a Flyer tradition and just playing through one) actually came when his head hit the ice.

The site with the video is down, but here are the 2 pictures I've seen:
