2010 KHL Entry Draft

* Хоккеисты, выступающие в России (490 человек);
* Хоккеисты, выступающие в Европе (151 человек);
* Хоккеисты, выступающие в Северной Америке (131 человек).

Draft will be held in Moscow, 4 june.
There will be eligible players from 17 to 21 years old
Players who have valid contracts with KHL, MHL or Vyssia league club, will not participate in KHL (example Namestnikov IMHO)

1st round pick - sibir,
2nd - Novokuznetsk
3rd- Lada (There will be negotiation on Monday about Lada´s participation)
4th- Amur
5th- Vytjaz
etc....

Rules:
All players will be eligible (no restrictions like last year). KHL team has a priority for its own players... example: Sibir (1st round pick) will choose Nikita Kucherov from CSKA, that team (mean CSKA) will use its priority right and "save" Kucherov for CSKA... KHL team has 3 priority rights during draft.

does priority right hold a player until the team that exercised priority is due to draft and they use up it's pick or they just exercise priority right and keep the player?

I really don't understand this khl draft. I mean what is the point of draft when nhl already have drafted best kids around the world?

Plus, doesn't almost like all russian teams have their own some kind of junior system, for example where kids grow up like in Dynamo school and get till main team or something?

I am sorry if I am saying something dumb, but I remember last year something drafted something, but nothing happened in the end

It's basically a dispersal draft of Russian players to help create parity in the league. Teams stockpiled with prospects lose some of their lesser ones to teams that need em, you get the picture. Also serves to give priority rights to teams for other euro players who would want to go to the KHL vs. their home national league, or aren't ready for the NHL yet (re: Linus Omark for example)

I think that player who don´t have valid professional contract with KHL, MHL a Vysnya - are eligible for draft (that means that players from KS are, look at guy named
Players signs professional contract when they are 17 years old, but I am not sure about it.

This draft is a huge pile of you know what...
Anyhow, on Monday 17th there will be the final word about Lada. Should they not get into KHL 2010-11, all the draft should go up by one, Amur will be third, Vityaz fourth, and so on. Budivelnik and Yugra will pick last

Lol. I think that beginners will first choose

It is interesting that Traktor has 4 players in top 20. They have only 3 priority rights...

Kucherov from CSKA?
I am not sure... maybe he does not have professional contract with CSKA/juniors. I don´t know how it works.... When do players sign his first professional contract? For how period?

You signs your first contract with NHL team when you are drafted, so at least 18 years old guy.

I think that in KHL you signs contract when you are 17, but I am not sure, correct me pls

I think it's funny that Taylor Hall was drafted last year by Ak Bar, and now he's being drafted probably by Edmonton.

Yeah, why not? In most cases it's not the smartest move as a NA player isn't as likely to cross over as a Euro player is to come to the NHL.

I think that someone like Magnitka or Salavat should draft and lure both Taylor Hall, and Tyler Seguin offer them the craziest one year contracts. I bet you that that team would be very popular, and that team would be broadcasted on Canadian tv... I guess there's no real point but it would be a sensation if it happened

It would make no sense. There is no way that guys like Hall and Seguin can break into Ak Bars roster for example and deliver. And surely not with a huge baloon contract
