Maybe someone can confirm but I'm pretty sure that's what I heard.
Well the clip is on the CTV site, he skated backwards, looked to hurt himself on his 1st or 2nd stride, then slammed his stick after the drill. It's first practice with the team as JM said, most of his teammates seems happy with his results. If it were real bad I would think he would leave practice.

I think Markov is pushing too hard, he wants to enjoy this with the team and I just hope they'll settle him down.

The way I see it, win the cup without Markov for all the remaining games and then next season, the players will still be motivated, because they'll want to win one WITH him in the lineup for the whole playoffs...

You can see it when the players talk about him in interviews. Markov may be shy to the cameras, but every teamate seems to really like him.

I think they are playing with the information they give about Markov. No way they let him play if he just had his ACL torned.

then he'd have had his surgery yet and wouldn't be skating in full gear.

I have no clue if markov will be back or not, but i wouldn't rush it yet.. it's not a big deal if he misses game 1 or 2.. even if we gave him another week and he came back for game 4..

I did also appreciate his honesty. And no where does he ever mention the severity of Markovs injury.

Could'nt agree more. The big bad flyers game plan will be simple, run the goalie. Obyrne is just about the only guy who can protect and intimidate back, their, I think they should play Obyrne regularly this series.

O'Byrne's presence is a must.

Thanks man. Just giving a heads up to all the people who think a week or two will make Markov better again. You commenting is worthless.

Markov at 60% is better than MAB.

It would be a bad idea to play with a bad leg. Sure he may not be able to injure that leg more, but a sitting duck makes an easy target leading to more potential for injury

Besides we need him to play at his best. Despite the bravado of some, I doubt he will be better than healthy players with that bad wheel

Too bad. We really could have used him

I dunno. With limited ice time, mostly PP and no PK plus very little 5 on 5, I think he's very useful bum leg or not. Think about playing him the exact way/time MAB has been used, and I think you'll agree.

We need him but we don't need so much to stop his carreer.

You guys are brutal, if he can play with us, he will play.
That's ********, IMO. Markov at 60% isn't better than anyone on that list with the exception of maybe MAB.

Then again, even MAB had a solid enough Game #7.

Hamrlik was AWESOME during the Philly series (except the last couple of periods), Spacek was a big part of winning Game #6.

I was just about to comment on his post with a similar response as this one.

Spacek has been absolutely huge for us, O'byrne has played some solid hockey (I have no idea why MAB was kept on Defense over him in game 7), and Hamrlik has been overall pretty good as well.

I'll be the first to admit I'd like to see Hamrlik traded over the summer to free up cap space & sign a younger cheaper verson of him. But, we need him right now and he's been decent... No Gill, Gorges or Subban, but he's been good.

Hopefully Markov will be ready to play games 3 and 4 at the Bell Centre....games 1 and 2 just seem to be too optomistic guys...

maguire was on l'attaque last night said he was fine after practice, that if he had re-injured it as some reported he wouldn't have been on the stationary bike

If Markov is back at any point, what would you go with defensively? I agree with those who say o'Byrne needs to be in against a tough Flyers squad. I think one solution would be to sit MAB and go with 7 defenseman.

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Kostitsyn
Pouliot-Gomez-Gionta
Moen-Moore-Lapierre
Metro-Pyatt

Markov-Gill
Hamrlik-Spacek
Subban-Gorges
O'Byrne

Markov didn't skate today. Everyone else skating except Mara and Markov. This may be the journalists interpretation, says trainers and specialists saw Markov's limit and may take more time to come back.

He was probably just frustrated with where he was in his recuperation, which isn't good news but isn't as bad as a setback.

Only way Markov gets back in the lineup is if he's 100% or Montreal gets down 0-2 to the Flyers.

This article also states that JM said that Markov's situation did NOT get worse because of the practice. May just be playoff bluster, but... I believe!
