Had the Preds beaten the Hawks - 7 games in San Jose

C&P from the BoH Nashville Flood thread:

Bridgestone Arena was flooded, so any Predators games in the semifinals would have been moved. Atlanta is the nearest NHL city, but a Sharks-Predators playoff game wouldn't have been a huge draw there.

Trotz, who never took the discussions to the league level, said internal talks led to the conclusion all the second-round games would likely have been played in San Jose.

It was also suggested that a hockey-mad city like Toronto could have adopted the Predators for the playoffs.

"It actually made a little sense. You could take it to a hockey market in Canada via Toronto or something like that and probably draw OK," Trotz said.

Trotz laughed because he knew what would happen next.

"We would have started another rumor about (moving to) Hamilton," he said.

Makes sense. Games would have sold out. Preds would have received money from ticket sales. Don't have to change time zones multiple times. Don't have the best record at HP Pavilion, but with everything else considered...I think it would have the right decision.

Thank god that didn't happen. When we would of beat them our victory would have been "tainted" and not legit in the eyes of many.

Much more satisfying to beat Detroit in 5.

They should have decided to play water polo in Nashville. It's the only way to keep the competition even, while retaining a home advantage and boosting local revenue.

Oh and it would be kinda funny.

And the choking hazards in water polo are quite significant.

turn the temperature in the arena to 28 degrees in order to freeze the flooded water.

then simply tell everyone to wear winter clothing. they should have plenty in nashville.

i don't get the big deal about low temps in arenas it makes for such better ice and this ice would be all natural...
