'Name 10 posters you think are deserving for the poster of the year for 2009-2010.'

Just because a poster isn't a Kings fan, doesn't mean recognition can't be handed out. Check the NHL section and the trades area, both those guys share good solid posts. Even if their viewpoint is different, the posts are more then just a one sentence quip about how 'my pwayah is bettah!' view. BOG chips in here and there rooting for us as well.

I give the edge to people who have been around a long time and give me at least a strong paragraph with facts to back up their argument. I usually disagree with Kings 17 but when you lay out an argument that is easy to read and has facts to back up your stance he can make it very hard to argue against him. Nobody in the Kings forum is better at using stats than JT. PSP has that bitterness that you just cannot get from a King fan who never attended a game at The Forum. Some of his genius gets wiped out by the new kids on the block.

I might be in the minority here, but I've always thought JT Dutch was a smart poster. Wabwat too, though he doesn't post here as much as he should. Zad seems like a neat guy too.

I really hate popularity contests so it's always hard for me to chime in on these things.

I apologize if I wasn't clear but it is just for kings posters. Your votes will remain as is but from here on out, please everyone, vote for only kings posters.

Thanks

I left out JT Dutch as well as yourself Defgarden. There are a lot of great posters over here which is why I stopped being a "both-sites" guy quite a while ago. I'm not saying there aren't good posters on the other site, but I truly believe you get everything you need over here, including input from solid posters from other fanbases.

KingDoughty8....you are getting much better. If you look at the posters who are mentioned frequently in this thread, they all have experience in common as they have probably been experiencing the pain of being a Kings fan since at least the late 80s. I started posting on the other site back in 1997-98 as well as the Online Kingdom, the original hockey fight site that is Fried Chicken's and even the SJ Sharks official message board as they had the best message board of any team's official website.. I was very brash and, while I knew something about hockey, I was still 17 and prone to homerism, most regrettably in my passionate defense of the Matt Johnson suckerpunch on Beukeboom. Long story short, I feel that I've matured over the years as a poster and I feel you have become a much more solid poster this season for the same reason. Not everyone can be like your namesake though and earn immediate praise: not even on a message board.

As for my fight collection, I don't know when they will be online but I'm sure it will be a summertime thing. What was really sweet besides the tickets and the possibility of signed merch was that they dubbed everything over on to DVD for me which saves me a lot of time and headaches. I'm getting my original tapes back along with the DVDs so it should be much easier to make copies now. That means I will hopefully be able to supply Reap and DTK with the fights they crave. I know DTK is chomping at the bit for some Jay Wells footage.

If the voting were to end now, the first 11 (up to Legionnaire) will be put up in a poll where we can vote for one P.O.T.Y.. That is IF the majority of the nominees want a poll.

This thread needs more cowbell

The top 10 thing is throwing me off.

Fun categories:

1. The one who would likely outdrink the others on this board
2. The one most likely to get into a fight at a game
3. The one most likely to still be a virgin
4. The one most likely to be a closet Ducks fan
5. The one you want to buy a beer for

My votes:

1. Me
2. Reaper with potentially Matt13
3. Telos
4. PSP
5. BigKing and LBFF tie

i genuinely like ALL of you damn flunkies... you make me think, you make me learn, you make me really angry, and most importantly, you make me laugh.

i'm still very surprised that there are still a number of you whom i haven't met in person. there are a small handful of you who'll know exactly where to find me when we all reach Vegas in October.

Ha! Next year, I'm thinking of going more cut-throat and name just one poster. That's it, one, and you're done! None of this sissy stuff naming 10 posters.

You're right, Hans is a good poster. Or is it, Hangons that I'm thinking of.

You guys really need to post more often and have names that standout. I don't know how many posters named Doughty and Frolov we have, but for me, it gets a bit confusing.

I appreciate that Tik. I never skip reading one of your posts and you make a lot of good points with your posts here. Same with almost everyone that posts here. I find our forum one that has some of the most knowledgable hockey fans on HFboards.

Hans is good, dont remember seeing Hangons though. And just think of me as MD or something. Too bad Im not mentioned, but than again everyone with a vote has at least two years on membership, and most are on LGK, unlike me.
