Give Sully 1 more year?

When we traded for O'Sullivan we all knew the potential this guy had.. 47 goals as a rookie in the AHL and 53 points as a sophomore in LA are awesome stats, the guy has way too much potential to just be bought out/waived/traded for a mid round pick. I remember hearing how O'Sullivan takes a while to develop with new teams and I think this year he really didn't have a chance to show what he's got.. with a healthy roster maybe he'd be able to play to his fullest capabilities?

What are your thoughts?

I like him, I think he's got an amazing shot..sick hands, his defence isn't all that bad, just not sure if there's room for him now..he'll have to play his way back onto the team this fall.

I'm done with him and I hope Tambellini is too. He was an embarrassment for the majority of last season. He didn't even seem like he really cared either.

At least when Lupul was struggling he looked a little suicidal at times...

Get him out of here. ASAP. I have been reading Steve Ludzik's book "Been there done that", and he used to coach POS in junior. Had to suspend him from the team. He was bad in the room and he would take runs at teammates in practice.

He has had all kinds of chances, and while I feel bad for what he had to go through as a kid, I am not interested in having him on my hockey team at all.

When the Oilers traded for POS, they were in 6th place and a good chance to make the playoffos. The team missed the playoffs.

I want him and Moreau gone.

I could live with Nilsson as a 13th forward.

I don't get him at all. The guy played like he had totally given up. It's too bad they don't allow buyouts at training camp. Maybe he would have his head together by then.(and be able to show it)

Nope, he is as good as dead to me. Last year was all I needed to see of this train wreck of a player. He is too emotional for me and seems to need to be in a great place to play in order for him to play well. When he is unhappy, like he was this year, you get the O'sullivan we got this year.

his +/- was terrible last season. I really doubt he wants to stay here. I'm sure he wants out of here more than some people want him out. He does have potential, but should be taken somewhere else. We have too many better forwards to focus on

No, He needs to be shipped out. There seems to be confident issues with his character. Maybe it's because of the abuse he took as a kid. He just doesnt seem right in the head. Also it seems this guy portrays self-entitlement in a lot of his interviews. He seems to portray no fault in his game. The oilers right now cannot have a guy like him in the dressing room. It will project a wrong attitude with some of the newer guys coming in. In other words he is not a winner.

I think they should get rid of him. Tambellini said numerous times that whoever wanted to be an Oiler would prove it when things got bad. It's time to let the kid go.

His effort this year was disgusting. Over the past couple of years we've had enough Lupuls, Torres's Pitkanens and O'Sullivans. Get those guys out of here and bring in some players who show up every night.

He doesn't want to be here and we need to room for the future. I have nothing against him and wish him the best, but I want him, Nilsson and esp. Moreau(and Souray) gone before camp next year.

I'd far prefer to see Omark, Eberle, MPS or Hall in his spot.

Yeah, I agree.

Sully brings nothing that another younger, cheaper player can't bring. We have other players in the system that should be given that chance.

I think he will still be an Oiler come fall whether people like it or not and I hope he finds his form.

I think he could be a really special player if he could deal with whatever issues he has emotionally speaking. It seems like he gets really down in himself and it reflects negatively in his play.

He actually made me pine for the days we had Lupul.

It takes a special brand of suck to be that bad.

It's just a gut feeling but I think he and Moreau have rotten attitudes. I think of the three amigos ... Nilsson even though he can become lazy probably is the best in the locker room and maybe could help MPS transition over.

Pass

He's got a future somewhere else, but not here. I'd rather use his roster spot on a rookie or some old vet signed cheap.

The epitomy of the term smurf. May be average in size but looks tiny because of his heart. Shows lacklustre effort on a good night. Flashes of a fast release and occasional poise is about all i see. I imagine he'd be a good endorsement for Lucky Charms cereal. His unwillingness to backcheck drives me wild. Constant giveaways in his own zone, no strength nor work ethic to improve it. Has no physical element to compensate for his small stature. He'd be great on the Barons though!

Buy him out or send him south.

I don't think POS gets another year with us.

And I'm a guy that would like to see Cogs get another shot. I wouldn't mind mending fences with Souray. I wouldn't even mind another year with Pisani signed at league minimum.

That said, I think PoS is a complete waste of space, and should be shipped out no matter the cost. The only person I want off this roster more is Moreau, and even then not by much.

If we can't trade him, then we should waive him. But if nobody takes him, I'd keep him for another year as long as we have the cap room. I don't see any reason to buy him out and throw away next year's cap space just to get him off the team.
