Matt Moore made his 5th start with AAA Durham this evening. He went 6 innings allowing no runs on 2 hits, 2 walks and he struck out 10. Unfortuantely, the bullpen blew his chances at a win, but he's been lights out. Over his 5 starts, here are his stats.
He is having a great season and was just named best power prospect in Baseball America's best tools survey.
Will he remain a catcher when he reaches the majors?
Below average.
Had a good year with the stick. Raking at AAA. Projects as a DH type in majors, very good power, he was originally an outfielder. Federowicz appears to be he future behind the plate along with Salty. He's the complete opposite of Lavarnway.
Sox did draft a catcher early this past draft (yet to sign him I think) but catchers take their time developing.
1.2 IP, 4 H, 5 ER, and 2 BB. He K'd 3. He faced 11 batters.
Do not ****ing call him up in September. Let him stay in the minors.
Also, Noah Syndergaard is impressing a lot of people.
He apparently hits high 90's regularly with his FB, has a great feel for his curveball and a change which is coming along (helps he's in the Jay's farm system which teaches anyone who is willing to learn a MLB average change up).

EXTREMELY excited for Syndergaard, threw five hitless innings today. Another guy that intrigues me is Nestor Molina, who threw five scoreless innings for AA New Hampshire, striking out nine and walking none. In two AA starts his K:BB ratio is 17:1 and in A Dunedin it was 115:14 in 108 innings, absolute incredible control.
He doesn't get a lot of attention because the rest of the farm system kind of sucks but Wily Peralta needs to get some top 100 consideration at the very least from BA next year.

Should be in I reckon.
BA ranked them as the worst farm system when they did their rankings early this year. Bradley and Jungmann will help but there isn't much there after these 3.
- Australian pitcher Liam Hendriks gets the call to start tomorrow after Brian Duensing got injured today.
- Alex Wimmers throws a 7 IP no hitter. What's remarkable about this is, for the majority of the year, he was suffering from 'the thing'. It's referred to as 'the thing' because no one knew what on earth was wrong with him, and the Twins didn't release any info about it. He lost his control (worrying if your a control pitcher like him), his velocity was reportedly down, he could barely go an inning without giving up a run. Then the kid throws a no-hitter.
Willin Rosario making his debut tonight for Rockies. That now makes Jays D'Arnaud the best catcher in minors. Also Drew Pomeranz is up with the big club.
